Question about tax returns. According to the NVC wiki page, you can submit tax returns for either either the past one or three years.

How do you decide whether to submit one or three years worth of tax returns?

Thank you.

Thank you.

Its really your preference. NVC ask for the last year tax doc and its optional for you to submit the other 2 yrs taxes. I sent in all 3 yrs tax transcript.

Hey guys!

Just prepping all my docs together to send them electronically to NVC and wondering if I'm missing something - I read you need proof of your relationship (skype, text, letters, photos) and the petitioner needs proof of his ties staying in the US?

Is this something for us to bring to the interview.

I have docs of bills he keeps paying in the US, and letters for me looking for work transfers and moving fees. Would this work with the IV package or the AOS package?

Otherwise I have the following:

AOS Package

  • Filled out I-864 from Petitioner and Sponsors (with their birth certificates, IRS forms for the past 3 years)
  • And then proof of US funds from him and myself.
  • cover letter and the receipt of the AOS bill paid with the barcode

IV package:

  • 2 Passport photos
  • IV receipt with barcode and cover letter for documents included
  • birth certificate
  • marriage certificate
  • police certificate

Figured I'd ask because many of you have done it, I've read all the guides as well but it's always nice to have another set of eyes on things!

I confirmed the da-261 then a few hours later went on to pay AOS fee of 120 but a message came up and said this case is in the process of termination fee payments and online form can no longer be excepted if you believe you received this message in error please contact NBC immediately I called them and they said wait a few days... Not sure but saying case is in the process of termination freaks me out! Has any body else ran into this?

Hey guys!

So my immigration advisor filled out the Ds261 form and sent it. I called yesterday to get it reviewed and they did and told me if I was going to be the agent and I said yes. Now I'm looking at the Ds261 that my advisor completed herself and on the part that it says "Do you wish to choose an agent to receive emails about your application bla bla" She chose "NO"..Now I'm confused! I called yesterday again and the lady told me that I HAVE to choose an agent. What should I do? Give her a call?

I had the same issue, and saw on VJ that it's normal when the fee is first being invoiced. However, when I called them about reviewing DS-261, I asked them about this error and they said it's nothing to worry about - just the system processing a new case.

Now, if I were you, I'd call just for the peace of mind. But my bet is that it's nothing to worry about.

Thank you , You were right it changed back again and my AOS bill was available so I paid the $120.00. It will not let my pay the IV bill. Do you know when that becomes available?

IV fee is invoiced after NVC reviews the DS-261 form. Call them and have them review it on the phone and they should be happy to do that - otherwise it might take 1-2 weeks for them to get to it on their own. The IV bill should show up the day after that, and DS-260 after the IV fee is paid.

NVC received our AOS/IV packets on July 8th. Is that my scan date? I called last night and asked about a scan date but he said "it takes up to 6 weeks for us to review your packets"?
