I will for sure keep you updated, thank you! I know it's just so frustrating that it's out of our control. You would think the American embassy would know how difficult it is and schedule it automatically at a different embassy...I'm just praying somehow my husband gets it inshaAllah.

Aww you're so sweet, I feel the same way! Thank you so much for praying for me it means so much ❤️ and reading your story I can't help but feel so much for you and I need to pray for your approval and happiness because I know how it feels. Just like with all the ther stories here. InshAllah we all get reunited with our family and loved ones as soon as possible! ?

Hey there, so we got put into the black hole. I'm at a loss of words right now. I don't even know if we're approved or not. I guess we have a little more waiting to do. InshAllah everything works out. I'm hoping everything works out for you. This process sucks like seriously this is ridiculous. It should not be this hard to bring your spouse here. The anxiety is what gets the best of people.

Hey guys. So i am very very confused right now. My husband had his interview today. Once he got to the embassy he had his fingerprints taken. Then where they collect documents they only took his original birth certificate, our marriage certificate and the translation for it. My husband said he had updated financial documents and the guy told him he doesn't need that give it to the CO if he asks. (Is that fine?) After 2 and half hour of wait he met the CO. He took the oath. He was only asked two question. How do we know each other prior to our marriage and if either was were married before. And then asked to see our wedding pictures and that's it. He told my husband they're keeping his passport and they need to look further into his case it could take about a month. His status on CEAC already shows administrative processing. I'm just wondering what does that mean is he approved not approved? They kept his passport and didn't give him any slip. Any advice :(

I am ssuming the CO did not ask your husband for updated financial documents. Also, does your husband remember if at the end of interview the CO siad his case is approved or is going to AP?

I think it is a good sign that your husband did not get any paper from CO at end of interview. They give out a white paper for AP at end of the interview if case is going to AP. It is also a good sign that they kept his passport. Dont worry, it is normal for Islamabad embassy to put cases of young males to AP before visa issuance. Even if your husband has an approved case, the case remains in AP while they print the visa and stamp it into the passport.

Hope this helps.

P.s: if you can submit a detailed review of the interview, it would really help the rest of us who will be interviewed at Islamabad embassy in the near future. Thanks

Thank you soooo much for your response. This really does make me feel better. Yes you're right the CO did not ask my husband for any updated information regarding the relationship nor financial information. Also my husband used a translator because he said he did not want to misunderstand any questions lol so he didn't directly talk to the CO, the CO would ask the translator to ask the two questions which he needed answer for, so at the end of the interview they didn't tell if he's approved or going into AP review. My husband said the translator said we still need to look at your case you'll be contacted through American Express about your passport. And he was not handed any kind of slip. I kept asking my husband to look for a white slip he said they didn't give him any slip just the original documents back.

I will write a detailed review of his experience later for those who are going to have an interview at the Islamabad embassy.

I bet!!! It's just so much emotion and thoughts running through you for sure. So nerve wracking! He will do well and get approved inshAllah?

Hey, yeah the nerves got the best of me last night. But we did get put into AP review though. ? The sucky part is they didn't give anything definitive like you're going into AP review or he's approved. And I'm so mad at him that he didn't even ask at the ends ugh. Pray for us I'm so upset.

I went to sleep praying for you and woke up so nervous for you and your husband. I'm so sorry that you were confused after his interview because hey weren't clear with him about whether he's approved or not ? I'm so sorry that you're upset about him being put on AP review. This just makes me soooo angry. I just don't understand why they need to make things difficult and not clear.

It's a good sign they kept his passport through and they didn't give him a white slip. They may just need to check a few things which to me is just crazy like why couldn't they check everything before the interview you know? I just don't understand but in times like this we have to try and stay strong and find the positive things in the situation which trust me it can be just so hard. I think in this case the silver lining is that they kept his passport and didn't give him a white slip Alhamdulilah so inshAllah it will be a quick wait and they will issue him the visa soon. We must be strong together and pray together and Allah will help us through this. My heart and prayers are with you sister❤️

This is standard for Pakistan. The majority of all men get Mandatory AP. No they don't tell you approved or not because like the CO says they still need to look at your case. Usually its name checking and more background checks. Just have to wait it out usually its not long.

Writing up some better instructions to track green card. a those who got theirs and tracked is this still true? Amazing how there's nothing absolutely nothing out there on website nothing like what the heck.

How to track your green card after you have paid the $165 fee.

  1. When you go to your account on USCIS Elis, https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/
  2. Look below where it says CASE SUMMARY. What does the Case Received Date has?
  3. If the date is similar to the date you paid your Immigration fees (165$), it means that your file has not been transferred from your POE to the USCIS office. At this stage, even if you call USCIS, the agents will not be able to tell you anything about your case because they don't have access to your file until it is transferred to them.
  4. When your case/file is received your status moves from ACCEPTED to OPTIMIZED at the Case lifecycle level. Then your card is produced.
  5. After production of your card, the case status will read CLOSED, meaning you no longer have a pending case with USCIS. If you check your status with your receipt ID, you will see a message with a tracking number to track delivery of your GC with USPS.

Hey Debbie - I was just checking my husband's GC status and when I login, I don't see where it says "Case Summary". When I click on the right hand side for "view all my cases" it shows just the one and it says "In Process". When I use the Receipt number to check USCIS website for case status like back when we were in the I-130 petition stage, it says it's not a valid receipt number. I've attached a screen shot of the two windows. When I click on the Profile tab, it says I have to submit a application, petition or request before I can update my account profile.

Awww hun I know you're so upset ? I'm so upset for you this is not the fun part but I'm here for you and we need to stay as strong as we can and push through the pain and tears and hold onto hope that everything will turn out okay and that we will be with our husbands so soon inshAllah. Alhamdulilah he had the interview and that it was quick and that they kept his passport and didn't give him a slip. InshAllah this means they just need to review some things and they will issue him the visa very soon. Alhamdulilah it was not a refusal or thag they need additional documents or anything. It could just be a normal thing the American consulate in Islamabad does. It's so frustrating I know and it makes me sick to my stomach that there is such a thing a an AP review but it's so much better than a refusal so we must be thankful.

How's your husband doing? I read somewhere that things get lost in communication with translators which is not okay. I'm sure my husband will need one as well since he doesn't really speak English and it makes me nervous because the translator may not translate everything correctly ?

Sometimes in the moment of stressful situations we forget things we are supposed to do and ask and I'm sure you're husband didn't realize poor him. You'll both get through this and one day have this incredible story to tell your children and they can learn what it means to love and be strong and patient and hopeful and what it means to put your trust in Allah since at the end he knows best ❤️

Aweee thank you soooo much for your prayers. Thank you for your kind words. I feel a lot better than what I initially started out with. Yeah they didn't deny him so I'm very thankful to Allah about that. And they also didn't bother him with a lot of questions. Just asked him two simple how do we know each other prior to getting married and if either of us were ever married before. I'm also thankful that he didn't get a white slip everyone keeps mentioning. That makes me feel a lot better because I asked around today and most of the people who were placed into AP review were handed a white slip. My husband didn't get anything like that. I'm so happy reading your post. Inshallah we both will get through this. It does make me angry that they didn't give him any sort of answer. So I'm left wandering and wondering. Ugh ??

First WOW on the fast SSN 10 days dang. Today is day 21 for hubby and the SS office says we are still in process waiting for Border patrol to verify his Alien Status. Good Lord. The Green card may get here first. JD is not happy wants to get to work now.

The instructions are still being updated until I get the 411 on all this  . I have not posted. Hoping to get people like you and I and others to chime in and give step by step what they did.

I wasn't even looking at the View My cases Thank you for alerting me to that. Mine says the same.

I have a delay maybe because Mine being saying PAID since I paid 6/26 but the payment was rejected and I get a letter to call with credit card info. So did that yesterday. 3 weeks its said PAD like WTH. But now all is well. The tracking seems to be one of those mysteries of life. ughhhhh :protest::ranting:

Awee you're too sweet. Thank you soo much for uplifting words. Yes Alhamdulilah the interview was very quick. I still don't know what to think but I will wait it out and see what happens. Yeah I'm glad they didn't ask for any additional documents or refuse him. AP review is such a dark hole though. I hope we're not in it for too long InshAllah.

As far as my husband he's content, he thought he was going to get a lot of questions but he only got two questions. As far as the communication with the translator goes he said that the CO and the translator were not communicating at all. He said from his understanding he thinks the CO could understand what they were saying he just was not fluent in speaking. The translator would look at the CO's screen ask the question and then when he would answer the CO would start typing and then he would ask the next question and he would answer and the CO would start typing again. So I'm assuming they understand what the translator is asking and what the applicant is replying. I think your husband should be okay.

Lol yeah my daughter already gets so involved. She's always asking me do you think if I pray my dadda will come sooner. Oh gosh such tough question to answer. But I have faith in Allah that he will get both of us through this InshAllah
