I wanna ask is it mandatory to take I 864 and I 864A ORIGINAL to the interview while NVC didn't ask for it to take to the interview? What will happen if I can't take original? ? My husband sent me papers byt I don't think im gonna get them before i leave.

Hey there, as far as I know it is. It states it on my interview letter that I need the original I-864 & supporting documents, also on the checklist from the consulate says I have to have it as well. I'm guessing they need the original wet signature. And 'original copy' is written in BOLD! But that is for me, might be different for you. I'd check! Good Luck

Hello everyone. I hope all is well. How long does it take to receive social security after arrival in the U.S. ?Can one get a job with just the social security or do I also have to wait on the green card as well?

No problems! But I would definitely try contact consulate and double check, would hate for you to get there and be told you need it! And thank you, its gettting closer now, getting more nervous lol!

I picked up my medical reports today and the receptionist told me that I am not to open the big sealed envelope, the smaller one I can open, but both have to go to interview and they will probably give me the smaller one back.

Got to the embassy 6:30am, was out 10.00am. Interview was less than 2mins, and only 4 questions asked.

1. Who is inviting you to US?

2. How long did you first see each other?

3. What year did you marry?

4. When did she travel to America?

After answering all the questions, he handed me 2 white sheets, saying I should pick up the visa in a circled location in 2wks time, and the other saying I should pay my green card fee after which I can then travel to the US. It wasn't as tenzed as I thought it would be.
