Hi,

Your PD will probably be current in the September 2016 Visa Bulletin. Please come back to let us know when you get your interview.

Safe journey.

I've just received the following, it looks like the case completion letter:
02AUG16
Dear Sir/Madam,
The National Visa Center (NVC) received all the requested documentation for this immigrant visa case. The applicant is now in the queue awaiting an interview appointment overseas, where a consular officer will adjudicate the applicant’s visa application.
NVC schedules appointments one month in advance. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate General tells us what dates they are holding interviews, and NVC fills these appointments in a first-in, first- out manner. Most appointments are set within 60 days of NVC receipt of all requested documentation. However, we cannot predict when an interview appointment will be available.
When we are able to schedule an appointment, we will notify the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable). The applicant can prepare now by reading about the embassy’s interview requirements online at http://nvc.state.gov/interview. Thank you for your patience.

Hey can we opt to move to f1 if f1 moves ahead and our pd becomes current in that ??

Just for knowledge:)

If your parent becomes US citizen, your category is changed automatically to F1. But if you were changed to F1 and you opt-out to stay on category F2B, then I don't if you can return to F1 again.

Hello Njpatel, what's your PD and I would recommend you to process for opt out if you want to stay in F2b, otherwise that may create problem at the time of interview.

If your parents are US citizens then you are no longer on category F2B, even if your case in NVC is still F2B. I read comments from people in the same situation and in the time of interview they told them that their PD was not current because their real category was F1, not F2B. If you want to stay on F2B and if you dont want to have any problems at the moment of the interview, you have to opt-out. If you want NVC to change your category you have to tell them that your petitioner became US citizen. But be aware that now your real category is F1.
