***** Moving from K1 fiance visa to K3 forum ****

In almost all cases no, it is not a good idea; it means more paperwork, and will likely be closed for you at NVC stage, forcing you to do the CR-1 spousal visa anyways. Even if you are one of the rare cases that get the K3, it won;t save more than a couple of weeks, is more expensive than the CR-1 and means more paperwork and waiting till you can work once you arrive in the USA.

You can but it will get approved the same time as the I130 for the CR1/IR and then just go away. They don't use them at the moment since they've been processing the I130 within time frame.

Has the check been cashed yet? if so, it usually takes about 2 weeks to get NOA1. And then the real waiting starts.

Yea

They emailed us about two hours ago saying our case has been accepted and has been transferred to Nebraska for processing.

What does this means and what is the next step.

Also they attached a receipt number and said I should wait for form I-797 before checking my case status
