When you file you DS-3032 and you have choosen to make the Agent (me) someone stateside. Once the package leaves the NVC and gets forwarded to the Embassy in the specific country. Who does the Package 3 & 4 come to? And who is the one send those packages? Is it the Embassy or the NVC? Last one is...I know what package 4 is but what is Package 3?

I must add that my spelling in this topic is horrible :wacko::wacko:

NO question is a stupid one if you dont know the answer :P

The mail from the Embassy will be sent to the person in that country, the one who will be having the interview!, if you are UK London Embassy then the Embassy will be the one that sends the packs, for CR1/IR1 i dont think there is a pack 3 only pack 4 which is interview date & medical info!! :yes:

EDITED to say, i see your phillippines(SP?) i'm not sure if its the embassy there that will send you the packs, but someone will be along soon that does know!!

April/04/2005- Visa journey began!!

We did both K3 & CR1 visa's, got both!!- I returned to England for my CR1 interview after first arriving on a K3 visa!!

May/25th 2006- Green card arrives in the mail................YAY!!

19th June 2006 I Had to go to the Social Security Office to get my number, the DS-230 didnt work for me!!

26-June-2006- Social Security# arrived in the mail....YAY!!

Feb 2008 lift conditions <<<reminder to self!!<<<< went to England for a visit instead, no rush right, 90 days is a long time,LOL

Removing Conditions Begins

Mailed I-751 April 12th 2008

signed for @ NSC April 16th

NOA date April 16th

Conditional GC expired May 5th 2008

Biometrics Detroit May 10th 2008

10 year Green card ordered August 20th 2008

Citizenship any time from feb 2009

Amanda each embassy is different. We went the CR1 route and had packets 3 and 4; packet 3 was list of forms needing to be submitted medical and police certificates, etc for them to review and then issue an interview date. Packet 4 was the interview letter and directions to the embassy. I also think the USC is going thru the Phillipines embassy.

I would email the embassy and ask them if you cannot find the information on thier website? Hopefully, they can send you a quick email back. If not maybe someone going thru your embassy can tell you for sure what is needed.

And like Amanada said no question is stupid if you do not know it. Good luck.

Packet 3 and 4 came directly to me the USC in the US from the NVC. I scanned them and emailed to my hubby. Our third packet was the DS-230 stuff.

Packet 3 consists of DS 230, and list of documents needed at the interview, For example, birth certificate, marriage certificates, police certificates, and bunch of other things.

I sent only DS230 Part 1 with biometric page ofbeneficiery's passport to NVC, But again this veries per the embassy.

Packet 4 consists of Appointment Letter ( Interview letter) and the list of documents needed at the interview.

In our case, NVC sent packet 3 to USC ( the agent), and embassy sent Packet 4 to Benificiary .

Thanks...I feel a little smarter now.....because I put in a request to have my papers expedited and I was approved and I was worried that if the embassy was going to send me here in the US package 3 and 4...that might add more and more time to this already long process. So it is good to know that package 3 is coming to me from the embassy and package 4 is going to my wife....So that is great news

You will need your wife's signature on DS230. So, make sure, she downloads DS230 from the net, sign it and send it over to you.

So, when NVC sends you the actual forms, you can use that DS230 barcodes sheet with the forms that your wife already signed earlier..
