Biometrics Apptmt conflicts with due date

Hi everyone,

I am 9 months pregnant (38 weeks) meaning the baby is term and could arrive at any moment. I just received notice to appear for biometrics on 7/14, which is one day before 40 weeks (Due date).

Anyone think it's worthwhile just turning up to the ASC ahead of my appointment and pleading my cause? I've done this successfully once before when I had to travel out of state.

I know I can ask to reschedule but getting downtown to the ASC once I have a newborn, on my own, is going to be even trickier.

I think this would make a great case for an early walk-in

Absolutely!

Be there super early and explain your situation to them. Let them know that you are willing to sit there and wait. I am sure they will accommodate you.

Hey everyone,

Thanks so much for the prompt advice! You were all right. I hopped in my car and got to the ASC at about 1.15 pm (this was the Chicago Broadway location by the way). The guard literally didn't say a word when I explained why I was there 2 weeks ahead of my appointment, just started filling a form out and gave me a number. So I wouldn't say I was welcomed with open arms but they accommodated me, and there was no one ahead of me in the queue so it was about a 5 minute wait.

Feels so good to have this sorted and off the to-do list before the due date! Now I guess I just wait to see if we have an interview or not. Off to check the timelines for processing (and I should update my own - my AOS went through in 09/14 which is obviously why I'm removing conditions now).

Congrats!!! :dancing: They may have been gruff just for show. :D Like they would really turn a pregnant woman away or tell her to reschedule possibly getting a date just after giving birth.

If I had returned to this post in time, I would have told you that if you had time to head to El Sazon Taqueria in Batavia for some of the best tacos in the area. (My husband and I once rented in Sugar Grove and would make the trek at least twice a week).

But again I am happy it worked out so well for you.
