OUR VISA JOURNEY

Chapter 1: USCIS

01-05-2016: I-130 Package Sent.

01-11-2016: Received notification of case accepted and routed to Texas Service Centre. Official notification (NOA1) to follow.

05-09-2016: Received NOA2. Application approved and forwarded to NVC.

Total Time at USCIS: 4 months, 4 days

Chapter 2: NVC

06-07-2016: Received NVC Case Number, Invoice ID Number, and AoS Bill via email.

06-08-2016: Submitted Online Choice of Address and Agent (DS-261).

06-09-2016: Paid AoS Fee.

06-17-2016: Received Immigrant Visa Bill via email.

06-19-2016: Paid Immigrant Visa Fee.

06-27-2016: Sent AoS and IV Package.

06-30-2016: Completed Online Immigrant Visa Application (DS-260).

07-06-2016: Received email confirmation that NVC received documents.

08-02-2016: Recieved request for document(s) in correct format.

08-11-2016: Sent requested document.

08-17-2016: Recieved confirmation that NVC received document.

09-29-2016: Recieved appointment letter for Interview on November 15, 2016.

Total time at NVC: 3 months, 22 days

Chapter 3: The Visa

10-17-2016: Completed medical appointment.

10-24-2016: Recieved confirmation that medical package had been sent to consulate.

11-15-2016: Completed Interview at consulate.

11-24-2016: Immigrant Visa fee paid and packet processed at border. Successfully Relocated to U.S.

Total Visa Processing Time: 1 month, 7 days.

Chapter 4: Lifting of Conditions

08-24-2018: 90 day window opens to file for removal of conditions.

09-04-2018: I-751 package sent.

10-20-2018: Recieved notice of 18 month resident status extension

06-14-2019: Recieved appointment nobice for Biometrics on July 5, 2019.

March 26, 2009: We become a couple!
September 10, 2009: Arrived for first meeting in-person!
June 17, 2010: Arrived for second in-person meeting and start of travel together to other areas of China!
June 21, 2010: Engaged!!!
September 1, 2010: Switched course from K1 to CR-1
December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!
February 9, 2011: Depart for China
February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!
February 18, 2011: Wedding ceremony in Shiyan!!!
April 22, 2011: Mailed I-130 to Chicago
April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)
April 29, 2011: Updated
May 3, 2011: Received NOA1 hardcopy in mail
July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Spent the last 2.5 years travelling between countries & deciding on where we are going to live...USA IT IS!!! ??
28/09/2015 - I-130 submitted
06/10/2015 - NOA 1 received
04/02/2016 - Approved! NOA 2 received via text
17/02/2016 - Petition sent to NVC
24/02/2016 - NVC received
08/03/2016 - Case number & IIN number received over the phone
09/03/2016 - Form DS-261 completed
09/03/2016 - AOS Fee paid
18/03/2016 - Received and paid IV Bill
22/03/2016 - Sent AOS & IV Documents
24/03/2016 - Scan date
08/04/2016 - Received RFE - apparently I didn't send I-864 form (as if I would forget that!) and police certificate (admittedly I sent the wrong one?)
18/04/2016 - Resent required documents (had to wait a week for new police certificate)
20/04/2016 - 2nd scan date for RFE documents
09/05/2016 - Case Completed ? (Now just waiting for interview date!!!)
26/05/2016 - Received Interview letter via email, interview scheduled for 26/07/2016 ??
