Former President Bill Clinton – whose wife is currently in the crosshairs of the Justice Department over her use of a private email server – met privately with Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Monday.

The meeting was a chance encounter as the two crossed paths at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix, according to Lynch.

“As I was landing he was headed out,” Lynch said at a press conference Wednesday. “He did come over and say hello and speak to my husband and myself.”

Eh, sometimes things really are random. If she were anything as intelligent as I believe her to be, she wouldn't harbor any discussion of the issue with Bill. She's no fool, nor is he. Potentially there's a lot on the line. On the other hand, a half an hour meeting looks bad, even if nothing was discussed (and we really cannot know one way or another what was discussed). Sometimes it is not enough to do the right thing, one must be seen to be doing the right thing.

Then again I believe there are no reds under the bed, nor that there have ever been.

The Clinton's don't do anything by accident, but would anyone expect them to follow regular ethics rules. Apparently, AG Lynch is feeling a little heat.

Lynch plans to announce on Friday that she will accept whatever recommendation career prosecutors and the F.B.I. director make about whether to bring charges related to Hillary Clintons personal email server, a Justice Department official said. Her decision removes the possibility that a political appointee will overrule investigators in the case.
