Hi guys, quick question can the police see if you are out of status if you are pulled over in a traffic stop? Currently in the usa on a tourist visa with my vehicle.

Thanks for your input! I'll be extra careful to not get arrested! haha

car came in with me on a tourist visa, I was not originally planning to stay at all but I recently met someone and considering it now. I still have 4 months before I overstay

You went to the US on a tourist visa with your car and you were not planning to stay... I´m sorry but it doesnt really add up. Why would you bring your car on a tourist visa if you weren´t planning on staying? And you are risking a lot by overstay for someone you just met...

The OP may be Canadian. He/she does not indicate what country they are from. It is common for Canadians, who are granted typically 180 days when crossing, to bring a car with them, especially those who live in border towns. Almost all snow birds who flock south in the winter bring their cars and do not plan on overstaying.

Good luck

this is true in many countries but not true in the USA.

You are incorrect. Illegal immigrants have the same rights to due process like everyone else covered by the 14th amendment . They have 5th amendment rights,

My family has brought our car to Canada on an an extended vacation. Car rental prices for long trips are ridiculous.

If here for 3 months car has to be licenced and import taxes paid on it / that is why i ask / that is how attention can be drawn to you

and think of it, there is a reason, immigrant is suppose to carry green card or visa ( at all times) to show proof of stays

nice to think that all our rights are protected / not quite true / that is why we have to pay lawyers

If this were true how do snow birds get away with their cars for 6 months stay?
