N-400 July 2016 Filers

Hello everyone. I am so beyond frustrated right now. I received a letter from USCIS for a second biometric appointment. As I mentioned before I have a ready completed my first biometric on July 6, 2016 and I explained that to the tier 2 officer I spoke to today. He wasn't really much helpful since he didn't know why I had received this second letter. He simply suggested that I went to this second biometric appointment on November 8 ( I forget the date).

Now, I had previously spoken to another tier 2 officer yesterday and he assured me that my fingerprints were not rejected by the FBI he also said that this could be a glitch in the system but he wasn't sure.

Is anyone else having this problem of having received a second biometrics appointment? Everyone seems to be moving forward but I seem to be moving backwards LOL .

Maybe it is a glitch in the system and they are ready to do your interview!

I would definitely go there and tell them that you are ready for your interview.

Yes I think you're right. I'm not really gonna have any options but go there in person and see what happens. I can't just not show up since that would be irresponsible.

This happened in person. It's usually next to impossible to make an appointment at the Alexandria, VA office last minute. So this would take for ever and I'd end up having to go there any ways. I'm gonna try to go there tomorrow or something and see whether they can see me ahead of time. I've done that before.

Hello there,

I am new to this forum, but following every thread of N400 July filers. I applied on July 18th along with my husband file. Today i finished my interview, yet waiting for my husband to cross the bridge. Our both Receipt numbers Start with NBC.

I got immense help from this forum and i felt like sharing my experience for benefit of others.

1. After Biometrics, i saw updates on my reciept number but not on my husband reciept number.

2. I applied for Arizona lock box

3. I went to San Francisco for my interview today.

4. IO was a lady and very nice & helpful. She let me inside her office and asked me to keep files on table and make a promise that "whatever i am saying is true and would not lie".

5. i was done in 10min. my interview went like below. 4 mins of Test + 6mins for Application review.

a. Read test: Please read this "Who is Abraham Lincoln"

b. Write test: She asked me write next " led the United States during the Civil War".

C. Civic Test: Only 6 questions, as i got all of them correct, we couldn't go further.

1) What is supreme law of land ? [Constitution]

2) Name one of the largest river in USA ? [Missisippi]

3) What do we call first 10 amendments? [the bill of rights]

4).What is the name of speaker? [Paul Ryan]

5) We elect president for how many years ?[4yrs]

6. When was the declaration of independence adopted? [July 4th 1776]

7. She checked my application every page and went through questions high level.

8.i took my green card, Driver license, letter of interview and passport.

9. at the end, she checked my husband status in her system and provided latest update on his file.

10.Gave my passport and said "Congratulations"

---She wrote i am approved for citizenship----

She also helped to look up my husband file and provided latest status. She asked me to give some more time before i make an info pass appointment for him.

Overall, it was good experience. Now will have to wait for my husband file to move forward and for me to get my oath ceremony.

Ecordo I have a question for you.Did you receive a letter prior to your oathtaking? I have my oathtaking scheduled on 11/4 .I just had my interview last 10/20. I am just worried because until now I haven't received a letter yet.

Hi Triz,

I think they made an exception. I got my letter right there. I just had to wait 30 min or so and got the letter there. I think they did that so thst timewise it would still work for me to register to vote.

So I just got back from my second biometric appointment. I got there early and spoke to the front desk person who made me wait for half an hour till I could see an immigration officer. Half an hour later I spoke to this lady who was not an immigration officer. Later I learned that the immigration officer on duty Wasn't in today (lucky me)! This lady then asked me to wait because she was going to send some emails on my behalf and make a couple of calls to find out why I had received a second Biometric appointment. One hour and a half later she came back with nothing. She even wanted me to go home without completing the biometric process. I asked her whether I could complete the biometrics since I didn't want to come back there a third time. She said sorry you can't since I don't have the authority. To which I replied, had I not told you that this was my second biometrics you would have never known and I would have completed it without a problem. She though about it a little and allowed me to complete the biometric but advised me that I could be charged again for it (about $200 if I'm not mistaken). She took my telefone number, name and IOE number and told me she'd call me on Wednesday. How frustrating, almost 4 months of waiting time and in back to zero. This time without an answer. Has anyone in here from the east coast been scheduled an interview yet ?
