Hey guys, got the bio-metrics appointment date. I updated the info below. I am thinking to do walk in biometrics at 9am on Tuesday that week because my appointment at 3pm. I'm busy at work recently.

Hi,

I have no idea how to add myself, but here's my timeline

GC 07/12 Sent: 07/18/16 Received: 07/20/16 NOA: July 25,2016 absolutely nothing after that.

My friend sent her application on July 10th, she received NOA one week after, biometrics appointment letter 5 days after NOA, she had FP appointment last Monday.

I have nothing...her case begins with IOE, mine with NBC, I believe that debunks the theory of NBC cases are processed faster...anyone has an idea of what may be going on with my case? Thanks!

Doesn't seem to be any difference for fingerprints, just waiting for an interview seems to be slower. It's a new system and they may have the bugs worked out by the time you are waiting for your interview and might not notice a slow down. Also depends how fast your field office processes applications.

Perfect explanation - now I understand :) Thank you very much for the time taken explaining Wyatt.

Is there a noticeable difference in processing time at this stage? From what I understood when I filed the form, I would expect to get citizenship within 5ish months so has that changed much do we know?

From what I've seen over the previous months my Field Office (Dallas) is one of the slowest anyway. I did my biometrics 2 days ago so I guess now I'll just sit and wait it out. I need this finalised by next April so it's not like I'm in a huge rush lol.

I have no idea why Zippydoodahs row gets changed all the time. Guys whats happening? haha... :dancing: Let's be careful when copy pasting. Take always the latest version :idea:
and just change what needs to be changed.

IOE is the first 3 letters on receipt notices that are processed at the Integrated Operating Environment. This is a computer system used to process cases, part of ELIS (or otherwise interacts with ELIS, not sure the details). Overall they are trying to digitize the whole USCIS process slowly over time (taking longer than they expected and more $$$) and the first ones to be done are I-90 and soon N-400.

If you filed with the new N-400 form, even though it's still paper, it's being digitized and put into this system. Since you have an IOE #, you did this. Benefits to this is all your notices, including Finger Print and Interview Notices show up online. You an also respond to Requests for Evidence online and upload documents, cutting down on time to go back and forth between customer and USCIS (that's the goal anyway).

NBC which is National Benefits Center was the receipt number given on the previous application editions that didn't use this new system.

People have noticed that the old forms are going faster, and the easiest way to see if someone filed with the old forms is their receipt number starts with NBC. So people talk about filing IOE/NBC when discussing their timeline.

Hi,

Is there a delay at the Phoenix office? I received my NOA on July 20, I haven't received biometrics appointment.

My friend sent her application on July 10th, she received NOA one week after, biometrics appointment letter 5 days after NOA, she had FP appointment last Monday.

I have nothing...her case begins with IOE, mine with NBC, I believe that debunks the theory of NBC cases are processed faster...anyone has an idea of what may be going on with my case? Thanks!

hi everyone! i got the letter NOA I-797C with the date and time of biometrics appointment. what to expect???? it will be on August 17.

Bring your FP notice and green card with you.

Depends on how busy the ASC is, it can take anywhere from 30 mins to 2 hours to get your FP done.
