I was about to start filling DS-261. I realized I used my wife's maiden name to fill I-130. We changed her name on the passport after filling I-130. Is it fine if we change her name on DS-261 to her married name?

Please help,

Thank You

What I know it´s gonna be fine if you start using her married name from now on. You will send a marriage certificate where he married name is and since you changed the passport and need to send a copy of that, it will be fine. They will be able to see her maiden name at one place and her married name in another so I think they will understand. But maybe someone else here on VJ knows for sure.

we did the reverse

married back to maiden name at the NVC stage

before proceeding send an email to nvc stating you want to change the applicant's name from maiden to married name with a proof of her passport's bio page

you should get an email within 2 weeks stating they changed the name

i didn't get any email from them but when i went to submit my fees i saw her changed name there
