hello,

I am a US citizen,

and i applied for the i 130 immigration petition for both my parents in addition to my brother from Lebanon.

I Have received an approval of adjustment of status for all of them in addition to the transfer of my cases to NVC,

I've paid the fees required and now i am stuck on the financial document fees, specifically the affidavit of support, as i am not working yet, i can't have the minimum amount required ( 25K per person per year), however my parents are able to sponsor themselves, how can i solve that?

Are they currently abroad (as you mention NVC) or in the USA (as you mention adjustment of status)?

How would they sponsor themselves? Because for example if they are already legally in the USA, say on a work visa, then yes you can include their income. But if their income is foreign based, it doesn't count in any case as it will stop when they immigrate.

They are currently abroad,

by adjustment of status i meant that they were able to prove that they are my mother, father and brother. adjustment of relationship seems a more appropriate word.

you will either need to obtain a job that meets the salary requirements, or need to find a co sponsor who would be willing to complete the required financial information and have sufficient income

there is a slim chance that the embassy might accept your parents sponsoring themselves if they have the required assets for support (although I have never seen a case through Lebanon where this happened, that does not mean it is impossible)

Is the co-sponsor required to get all the documentation required? taxes, forms etc or just mines?

yes the co sponsor will also need to complete the I864a and provide tax transcripts for the past 3 years

So the co-sponsors use the 864a? Why does the I864 form have a place for a co-sponsor if the co-sponsor uses a different form? This is the step my wife and I are at trying to complete the I-864. She does not meet the income requirements and I am trying to help her, and was confused as to the form I needed to use. DO I use the I-864a or the I-864?
