I was wondering if you can work with a company whike your AOS, EAD is pending, if you are in a voluntary role or internship and are not getting paid.

Are they strict on saying that you cannot accept any sort of employment what so ever voluntary or otherwise?

just wondering because i want to know what i can say when i'm on the job hunt.

thanks

Have you searched for one of the many times this has been discussed (recently even!)?

Absolutely right! You have to wait your legal working permit to be able to get a JOB.Nobody is exempted in the UScis/Department of homeland security as far as i know from the law itself. Please correct me If I am wrong thanks a lot!

Goodluck! I am still waiting for my permit too and Can't wait for Job hunting soon!

Hmm, I am fairly sure you can volunteer at an organization, but I am unsure if you can volunteer in a corporate setting.

From what I can remember, you cannot even volunteer as it still may take a position away from a USC / PR. Even if it is helping out at the local animal shelter! Nothing to stop you from job hunting, but you probably wont have much luck until you have your EAD in your hand.
