I'm confused on which one to file and I'm sure the answer is on the tip of my nose .

I sponsoring my stepson and now we are ready to file an I-184 and not sure which one 184EZ or I-184

My wife and I filed jointly and the combination of our income is way above the required for support, tax years 2013-2015

this is pasted from USCIS to use I184EZ

All three of the following are true:

  1. You filed a Form I-130 petition for your relative;
  2. There is only one applicant on the Form I-130 petition; and
  3. The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Forms W-2 provided by your employer(s) or former employer(s).

or do we just file the I-184 now the catch is I become unemployed 06/15 but just my wife income is still above the min requirement

does she still require to file I-184A even thou we always filed jointly ?

hi

the i864ez is only used if your income was enough, not using a joint sponsor or co sponsor

so you will file the i864 and your wife the i864A as your household member

Even thou her income alone and we filed jointly she is still required to fill out form I-184A ?

hi

the petitioner is always the primary sponsor and MUST file an affidavit of support

if the person doesn't qualify, then he or she can have a joint sponsor o co sponsor

that i understand , I assume they review the past 3-year income

The amount i filed in the I-184 was the joint amount not mine separated from her income

hi

the most important is recent tax and current income, so make sure your wife's current income is more than enough to cover the 3 of you
