Here is what i did to to bring my brother, i filed for my mother and first day she landed she become LPR , i filled for my brother (Through my mother) using the visa on her passport. it will take about 3 years or less from the day you filed for your mother to the time your sister will be here.

I filled for my mother on May 20,2013 and my brother entered US MAy, 19th,2016. just an info USCIS lost my mother's file which deylied the process about 6 months. Good Luck

Your brother must have been under 21 when you filed

This sister is too old to come in 3 years

Yep, NigeriaorBust is right. The OP's sister is already 20 and the OP hasn't even filed any petitions yet. By the time the mother arrives the sister will be over 21 so it will likely take 7 or more years.

The best option for the sister is to look into a student visa. The sister would need to be accepted in a University in the U.S. and also show proof of funds to pay a years tuition.

The work visa is an option but in my opinion unlikely that she would receive one. Most employers look for highly educated and skilled workers to invest sponsoring an immigrant visa.

this is not possible as her sister will be over 21 years of age when the petition is filed.

I really wish that people would think before they answer questions as they give false hope.

F1 - this is student visa. You can help yourself with finding information surrounding it along with eligibility requirements.

H1b - this is work visa. Subsequent to complementing your studies in the USA, one receives an OPT period to work. If you find an employer who sponsors...that will assist in applying for H1b visa. Further, this visa is valid upto 6-years depending upon renewals and employment. Various employers also file for greencard (separate category of employment based). If you sister works for a company that has clients or business in US, she can apply for work visa directly from her country.

L1 - this is also work visa allowing you to relocate to US provided your sister's employer has office in US. This visa also provides a path to greencard.

You can simultaneously apply for her greencard. No limit on how many petitions. You just need one to reach finish line and rest will be void.

Other than being dual intent, L-1 provides no path to green card.

Or you can introduce a USC to your sister to get married (if she doesn't have a bf)

Yes, because marriage should always be just about getting greencards quicker.

August 2000: We start e-mailing. I'm in Bosnia, she's in Florida

October 29th 2000: She sends me e-mail asking if I would marry her

October 29th 2000(5 seconds later): I say yes

November 2000: She sends me tickets to Orlando for when I get back

December 6th 2000: Return from Bos

December 11th 2000: Fly to Orlando, she meets me at airport

December 22nd 2000: I fly back to UK

January 3rd 2001: She flies to UK (Good times)

Mid February 2001: Pregnancy test Positive

Mid February 2001: She flies back to US

March 2001: Miscarriage, I fly to US on first flight I can get

May 2001: I leave US before my 90 days are up

June 2001: I fly back to US, stopped at airport for questioning as I had only just left

September 2001: Pregnancy test Positive again

September 2001: She falls sick, I make decision to stay to look after her as I am afraid I may have problems getting back in.

April 16th 2002: Our son is born, we start getting stuff together for his passport

March 6th 2003: We leave US for UK as family

Early April 2003: Family troubles make her return to US, I ask Embassy in London about possibilities of returning to US

April 16th 2003: London Embassy informs me that I will be banned from the Visa Waiver Program for 10 years, my little boys first birthday

June 13th 2006: I-129f sent

August 11th 2006: NOA1 Recieved

After our relationship breaks down she admits to me that she had never bothered to start the application process

hi guys !

I had biometric and fingers print last week. I'm waiting for the Naturalization interview. I may become Us citizen around Sep or Oct this year.

My questions are:

- my sister was born in March 1996. by the time I become US citizen. she is still 20. IF i apply for her come over to US before she turns 21 ( i mean by the time i submit the documents, a few months before her 21st bday comes), how long will it take?

- is it ok to sponsor my mom and my sister at a same time?

thanks very much.

You can sponsor both of them at the same time, but the waiting time for your sister will still be at least 7yrs because by the time her case is completed and she enters the US she will be over 21.
