Hi, I have both physical address and PO box. The reason I have PO box is that there is no post officers deliver mail in my area. Then I start filling info on form I-485. What address should I put in? I'm thinking about putting in physical address but what if they file me greencard or any mail I won't get it at all. Also, in form I-131 part 3 if I want to use PO box address. Should I mark number 9 and provide PO box address? Not sure if they do accept it.

Thank you

unbelieveable as post office has to deliver to every house in the US

i know as a freind built a house and 2 post offices refused to deliver saying was out of their area

she notified the General of post office and one was ordered to deliver to her

so, notiffy the correct person and get your mail delivered / USCIS will want a physical address as they need to know where the beneficary will be residing in the US

PO Box does not work and no one in immigraiton will believe you can not get mail delivered to a US address

You are incorrect. The post office is not required to deliver mail to every house.

I know some rural locations that do not have the option of local mail delivery for residents.

It is also possible to lose mail service at a house due to dog issues.

Some people may have physical address that they do not want to use due to unreliable mail delivery. Unlocked mailboxes and things of that nature.

Hopefully someone with personal experience can directly answer your original question.

Found a couple previous threads on the subject using the search feature. It does come up quite a bit.

Those threads gave an answer saying to include a letter explaining why you used a PO box instead of a physical address.

Related note:

I also discovered it is possible to convert the PO box to a physical address at some post offices.

Its free. You have to fill out a form at the post office first.

Reviews of actual users of the service report mixed results with actual use, especially packages.
