Greencard Interview this Thursday!! -- nervous wreck

Hi Friends,

My greencard interview is this Thursday, and I am so nervous

Obviously my marriage is real, but still..

I guess the only thing I'm nervous about is the question of ever intended to stay in the US?

I've seen that question floating around somewhere, and I don't really understand

I came into the US with a visitor visa and changed to Student visa, and in the process met my husband, dated 4 years and then got married

So if they ask if I had intentions of staying in the US, wouldn't my answer be 'yes', after marrying my husband? But then I read that if you say yes, it's not good? I don't know, it's all very confusing. I don't know how to answer that question.

Any help? Advice?

That is not the gist behind intent. The intent they are talking about is if you secured a visitor or student visa with the express purpose of immigrating and remaining in the US. If you are already in the US, it is 100% reasonable to stay here and adjust on the basis of marriage to your US spouse.

So you have no worries! :dancing:

Ohh..that makes sense :)

My friend is also adjusting status from F-1, but her parents had immigrated to the US on a business visa. But she had no intention on remaining in the US after she graduated. She was going to teach in Korea, but then she met her husband. Would that fall under intent? Or is she okay, since she was never planning on staying here even though her parents are.

She should be fine too. :)

Don't worry yourself too much. I was a nervous wreck for weeks too but had my interview this morning and all went well. We received our approval online less than 5 mins after leaving the USCIS building.
