Good Morning,

I have a few questions. My mother in-law would like to come to the us from Mexico to visit. She once had her residents card but was deported cause she got into some trouble back in 2008. I wanted to know if there is any way she could come to the us to visit and what forms would I need to start the process. I am from us and my husband is from the us also. She is sick with diabetic and she is out there alone with no family all her kids are out her. Please help me for I could help my mother.

Thank you

If your mother-in-law wants to visit US only, she has to apply for Tourist visa.

Not very high chance she has been deported before and has family members inside USA.

I would think about zero% chance with a deportation and all family members in the United States. Stranger things have happened. All you can do is file and see if she gets denied.

So there is not a high chance she would get approved for tourist visa since she has been deported before and has family here. Is there something else we could do like maybe a better route.

A US citizen adult child can file immigrant visa for the mother.

However, since the mother is deported, there is a ban.

You need to find out how long is the ban for the deportation.

Didn't the mother given any paperwork for the deportation?

Here are some info about Deportation and various length of ban

OP,

You will have to speak with you mother and find out exactly what happened during the deportation. She needs to find out how long the ban is for.

It could be 3 years, 10 years, or permanent ban.

If it is a permanent ban then there is very little to nothing she can do to return to the US.

She would also need very good and comprehensive travel health insurance due to her medical problems.
