If it's a newer unit, like built in the last 15 years, you can get the blinking LED code off the control board in the air handler in the house and decipher it, and do your own repair. That's what I did.

Nope I told him that the second time he put in the cheapo part. It's been replaced every year since. The worse part is I told him if he's going to keep putting it in to at least get 2 at a time so we don't have to order one in or track down someone to buy it for us. They won't let someone without an hvac license buy them here.

it could be a number of things really. Last year I had to replace a contactor and a capacitor.

The outside units can be troublesome. I have York systems. But I think they're identical to the Lenox.

We use white towels because hubs wants to be able to bleach them. I have some dark brown towels (and hand towels) for upstairs, and some blue ones for downstairs. Considering how much skin and other body fluids end up on towels, I like being able to bleach them. I toss a little bleach in with the coloured ones and sheets too, but not very much so they don't fade too fast.
