What prompts this observation seemingly out of the blue, Niki-B. ma'am?

1. Congratulations and continuing happiness, Nola-B. ma'am!

2. Making you a rare version of a gringa wife, si ma'am.

We & Mrs. T-B. will have our Many'th anniversary on Hallowe'en, glad to be reminded man.

To celebrate, we shall call the rubias, see ma'ams, and we shall suggest to Mrs. T-B. that she call the Rojo, she man.

Just some random threads on here. People living apart for careers. I don't understand moving 1/2 way around the world to chase a career instead of spending time with your spouse. But people do love in different ways.

I think a relationship is probably not strong enough anyway if it breaks down because of work or the like, but that is just a personal opinion.

Today is our 4th Anniversary and we aren't doing anything including cards or flowers because we both don't want to. Other couples might have a huge fight over not getting presents on an anniversary, but it is so not important to either of us.

Happy Anniversary.

The giving of gifts etc is personal and obviously you and your husband are okay with the status quo.

If someone is always putting work ahead of their relationship constantly with their spouse or children, there may be something wrong. IMHO, they are asking for the relationship to break down because there is NO relationship if someone spends all their time doing something else that is always taking priority, regardless of the reasoning. How someone receives and gives love, obviously differs as well. So maybe the one spouse doesn't really care because they get lots of presents and a nice house and that's all they want. So maybe they're happy that way... who knows. Obviously there are a lot of factors, but to put your work, ahead of your spouse, and say it's more important than they are, your career is more important, then why are you in a relationship? Maybe if both spouses do it, they can make it work, but again, why bother with a marriage?

I did it when I was younger.

This is why you weren't ready to marry when you were younger either I'm guessing.

I just wanted to point out that Nola's signature is amazing! See man!

I haven't seen nola's signature in years. LOL

Some people might argue that their own happiness is important to the health of their marriage. Not pursuing their career might lead them to feel trapped and stifled. I know people like this and I get the way they feel because I feel the opposite way, in that having a job and a career would make me so immensely unhappy that it would probably lead to the breakdown of a marriage. Then again, I see it from your perspective as well, because it is the way I feel about my children. I finally get why parents weep when they drop them off at college for the first time.

Husband calls 911, "I just got home, found my wife on the floor, and I think she's dead!"

Husband, "wait...."

-Gunshot heard on phone-

If being with the person you are supposed to love makes you feel trapped and stifled, maybe you shouldn't be with them. Maybe you aren't compatible.

I'm pretty sure people think they're compatible with others all the time, when really they're not. If they didn't, divorce would be a lot lower. Some people stay together for obligation, because they feel they HAVE to, not because they particularity want to. Sometimes people are better off as friends.

Marriage (and life) are improved when pre-owned toilet seats are vigorously involved, si man.

Had Nola-B. let us know of this occasion sooner, we could have fixed her up handsomely, chance missed man.

---

Tonight before bedtime, Mini-B. invented a new game, inventive wee man.

He used two of his red plastic clothes-hangers as (first) jets and (then) wings, fly guy man.

He then stood on his bed and had us hold the hangers out, using us for our body man.

He then jumped and grabbed each while in mid-air, build bodily coordination man.

He had us hold the hangers in various ways, two in one hand or one in each, etc. man.

After about 2x2x2x2 variations of this, he threw his teddy bear to hit the hangers, good thrower wee man.

Descendants are amazing, adorable wee man.

After playing Hangers, Mini-B. wanted to play Hoop-the-Neck again, energetic wee man.

We took the small plastic hoop and tried to ring his neck, unsuccessful this time man.

He recruited Mrs. T-B. to pick the hoop off the floor when it fell, preserve Daddy's back man.

He was quite disappointed when Mrs. T-B. laid down the law about bedtime, sigh wee man.

We wrote some weeks ago about the Ecu kid who'd been burned in the industrial accident, fried man.

He (with young wife) had been in town for hospitalization & treatment for weeks during summer, rough man.

They came back for a medical follow-up and then went to visit Nueva York, opportunity man.

We plan to stuff their suitcases with fluffy towels acquired at recent ESs, perfect destination for these man.
