We still face landscaping expenses, sigh man.

Two trees need to be trimmed, we have no ladder high enough man.

One has poison ivy wrapped around it, scratch ourselves man.

The backyard lawn probably requires a scythe to cut it, high & thick man.

The HOA will soon nail us for the dead patches in the front-yard root zone of the big tree, fix or die man.

Even the itinerant Mexican lawn-crews are quoting the range of $Many00 to $Many00 total, unbelievable man.

Makes me wonder if HOA rentals are a good idea.

Well just over a month into school and all of the Tornado's uniform dresses have either shrunk (doubtful) or she grew majorly!

So now I need to soak them in water and fabric softener to see if I can get a few inches back before I order more.

The worse part is the schools do it on purpose, you'e not allowed to buy the clothes a little big so they have room to grow.

Uniforms mandatory?

Yes they like to scam parents into thinking kids all dressed the same would mean less bullying. They like to strip kids of their individuality early here.

Not to mention that you have to go buy the dumb things and then buy regular clothes so they are pocketing all sorts of money and the stores make a killing off of the parents. You get the uniforms in stores not through the schools but the schools get a cut. See the scam here?

Can you sell the small ones maybe?

Or buy them a little big take them in with a temporary alteration and then let them out later?

They don't sell worth beans around here. But I got them stretched out. They should not have shrunk at all. poly blends.

If the clothes don't fit perfectly the pull the kid out of class and sent to the office for the parent. Then if they still aren't up to their standards can be suspended.

It's way over kill

Seems silly. Over most of my schooling I had a dress code or uniform and fit was never even something that mattered. Even if you wore something that wasn't approved or street clothes that day, you maybe got written up or just a reminder not to wear it again.

They are nuts here I tell you.

This is not even a private school, magnet or charter school this is the public schools.

They also try to say the mesh or clear back pack and uniforms are because of gangs. Then why aren't the middle schools and high school requiring this freaking dress code??

It's meant for portability. Not ruggedness.

I have a pretty rugged one. It stays up all winter pretty good. I wanted to build a wood platform for it. But I'm kinda busy.

As a part of the exec board in the school, we vote on uniforms annually. We keep it optional. I have yet to see a single student wear the uniform.

Man if I was a kid, I'd wanna go to my kid's school...

Having the insight that I do, this school is incredible for a NYC public school.

But the math scores did drop 3% year over. I wonder why. We spoke about it. We think it's because of the new fook kids.

I'm telling you, the population is still exploding in the hood. It's crazy here now. 67000 illegal fooks arriving monthly.

What gets me is, they pay crazy money to smuggle in, then they talk about how freakin great China is...

Back to the school, it's a shining example of what a school can be like, if caring parents and responsible faculty get together and work on the school.

It's like textbook perfect of what the DOE guidelines are looking for.

Unfortunately, if 10% of the schools in NYC are like this, I say that's a lot...
