He probably won't respond at all.

I made grilled chicken with apples, strawberries, and feta over spinach, kale, and chard. The Dane was not amused. He seems to think the only greenery one should eat is iceberg lettuce. :sleepy: The girl child loves it, so at least there is that.

And I'm awake and can't go back to sleep because of the fire pager again. They need help with fire in a town that is like 30 or 40 minutes away.

It is was ok, we live a few blocks further away from the firehouse than some of the others, so they ended up going, but not my husband. Probably a good thing because the fire is still burning now and he'd either have to miss work or go in with almost no sleep. -_-

1 of my guys is a "vollie" in long island, Nassau county. In fact, he's the chief.

He gets a 10% or 15% property tax break.

Everyday he comes in late.

When he comes in on time, I crack a remark like, "why didn't you call the office to let us know that you're gonna be on time?"

I'm sick. Father's in the hospital. Kid has a stomach ache in school. I'm up to my nose at work, JR is on vacation, other bosses not capable.

When it rains, it pours....

You take a lot of vacation, I'm sure you can handle this. Send the wife to deal with the kid and father in law?

A 10% property tax break would be about $80 and maybe $20 for the guys who live on rural roads. Not so much worth it.

I'm in the office 180 days a year give or take. But I'm a partner, and executive. Countless events I attend. When it's time to be responsible, time to take charge, I'm there.

These "vacations", they aren't really vacations. That's what I call it. They're "I'm not coming in". A real vacation is undisturbed, uninterrupted. My guys, they get real vacations. I just take days off...

I've been going on 3 hours sleep for the last few days. Last night at 10, as I was looking forward to some rest, I get hammered with phone calls about this morning. I wasn't going to come in, but I did.

This morning "daddy take your daughter to breakfast" day in school, I made that.

I know some people in my position do much less than me.

When I get out of here, I'm going to get the kid from school, take her to the doctor. Then, back to the hospital...

Tiff has been pitching in as much as she could. The little one needs trending. The homework has to get done. There's laundry, lots of it, etc...

My sister, my father's favorite child, is in Philly...

What kind of a useless, backwoods, prehistoric hamlet only charge 8 hunnit bucks for property tax?

They should raise it to 4000 right now!

It is pretty proportional to home value. Property taxes in NY are skewed a little high, but if you were to take it as a percentage of value of the home, it is about what people in CT pay.

Rural folks pay less because their roads aren't paved and they don't get water, sewer, and buried electric.

We have a weird system that let's say you live on XYZ road and XYZ road got paved and new sewer and water lines this year, then only the people on XYZ road are charged an increase in taxes for that. The same with let's say the new water tower or the flood diversion canals... only those who get city water or are in the diversion zone get charged extra on their tax bill.
