My 7 year old wants pink streaks in her hair.

I'm thinking that she might get them. Several other kids in her class have pink or blue streaks...

Hair chalk?

Stretch has white streaks in her :)

Nope I dye it :P

She was talking about it when we were visiting my mom and I was all like "in a year or two or maybe not at all," and my mother turns to me and goes "I let you dye your hair blue...."

Not that that should be the determining factor, but you are only young once.

Haha nice:)

So in other news. Have you ever met someone who continually quotes something as being the only fact, and then generally only quotes only ONE research source? Or like the same book or magazine repeatedly? And not something official either. /end rant

Also curious how it takes a man 3+ hours to get ready to go for a weekend to a friend's house the day his wife and child leave the house to see her parents.

I must be the super strict mom then. There's a bunch of things my kid wasn't permitted to do just because some other kids were doing it. Falls under that "if they jumped off a bridge, would you?" kind of thing IMHO. I spent time making sure to teach my girl she's beautiful as she is, that clothes and make up enhance a person, not overpower them, and to be comfortable in your own skin. Things I don't necessarily feel that I learned. I feel like she's getting it for the most part.

She has enough respect for herself that when a boy at school started calling her names, she just said, that's not me and walked away. Doesn't mean it didn't hurt a little, but she just ignored him and stopped talking to him.

Then again there's nothing wrong with expressing yourself either though, and I get that kids need to learn who they are and want to express that in their own style. It's just hair and it grows back too. I know the tears of having hair you hate though, on more than one occasion.
