Hi, I checked my husbands status online and it says his case is on hold because they requested a non USCIS advisory opinion, and that the processing of his case will resume when they get the response.

What does this mean?

My husband has never crossed into the US, we met in Mexico and had a long distance relationship for 2 years before getting married. They denied him the visa in the consulate.

Thank you so much for answering!

If so there is an issue to be cleared up, after all he required an I 601

you should get with your congress-person who can give you a bit on status

they however cannot speed up the process. Maybe they are checking if he

does need a waiver...Did an atty do your waiver , ask your atty.
