Hi everyone

I’m hoping someone can shed some light:

I’m on the IR-1 / I-130 visa path (UK citizen, with the US spouse, planning to emigrate to the US later this year). My I-130 has been received and approved by the London Embassy immigrant visa branch, and now I’ve been invited to prepare for my interview and schedule the appointment.

They’ve requested that I follow these instructions: https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/family-immigration/applying-for-an-immigrant-visa-instructions/

I’ve just completed the form DS-260, step 1, and submitted it online. I’m now in the process of step 2, of assembling all supporting documentation - the question is, what I need to do with it? The link above states I should not send any documents to NVC or the Immigrant Visa Unit. But it doesn’t make clear whether I simply hold onto them, and take them with me on the day of the interview, whether I need to send them somewhere in advance. I’ve seen official USCIS webpages elsewhere stating these documents should be emailed to NVCElectronic@state.gov, 30 days before the interview. But I’m not sure whether that is relevant if I’m applying direct to the London Embassy.

Could anyone clarify?

Many thanks, much appreciated

John

Yes, you bring all these documents along with you to the interview. You would only mail/email them to NVC only if you were not doing DCF.
