Howdy all.

NOA1 received on the 4th of June, we are expecting our NOA2 in about a month.

I am looking to rent a cheaper space for my remaining months in the UK.

Is it critical I change my address with USCIS? Will I receive any physical mail to my address in London or does it all go to my partner in the USA?

Can I give them my parents address to eliminate the worry of where I will be living?

Ideas...?

Definitely overthinking this but the entire process is very scary!

You may be overthinking this a bit. Generally, at the K1 petition filing phase of the process, the USC petitioner submits and receives documentation to/from USCIS. After the petition is approved and the file is forwarded on to the US Dept. of State (DOS), and then onto the interviewing embassy/consulate. It is at this phase that the embassy/consulate sends to the foreign beneficiary instructions/information related to the conduction of the visa application process. At this time, instructions/requirements are often embassy/consulate-specific, and the interviewing embassy/consulate should be contacted for details. You may want to check in at the UK Regional Forum for more specific information. There is an excellent pinned thread there that you should review: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide-do-not-post-questions-in-thread/

Good luck on your immigration journey.

US person gets NOA2 from USCIS and notification from NVC telling the new case number and that the file has gone to London.

UK person gets a letter from London saying they have received the case, the new case number, and that you may begin the visa part following instructions on a web link they provide.

So ways to get around it if you never get the London letter---

Tip: order your police certificate now as well as sort your immunizations

Edit-- the only thing you miss by not getting the letter from London is that's the only place they tell you to bring a new letter of intent from the American to you interview IF your petition has expired before you interview. That's four months after NOA2, and most will interview before that.

I am mental-organised and totally up to date on shots (immunisations) and have my police certificate ready!

Royal Mail (in the UK) do 'forwarding' for a fee - may be easier to just do it that way?

I don't think immigration mail allows forwarding. Read my edit I put in after you posted this.

You really don't need that letter for anything. Most carry on in the way I described anyway because they don't want to wait for the letter. Some never get the letter. Once you start applying for the visa on the DS-160, you can put your new address or your Mum's address. You won't get an interview letter. That changed in May. You pick your visa/passport delivery place with the courier so even for that London does not really have to have your correct address. Delivery is wherever you tell courier.
