Whew! now you at least know something. What a bunch of #######! Remind me not to use FEDex. Sorry you are going through this mess, JODO. (F) Let's hope it will be smooth sailing from here on in.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

Have you spoken with FedEx (or web-tracked it)?

Yeah I tracked it and it said that it was back at the service center and so I called Fedex today after my fiance still had not received it and it was due to be delivered today. The fedex lady told me that the driver said the address was incomplete and that he called and no one answered. My fiance said they'd been there all day and mind you DHL found the exact same address for the embassy packet! So how is the address incomplete?

I agree. We had an issue with a DHL merchant not sending something to me and he had to go and get it and then send it to me Fedex. That's why I used Fedex in the first place because of the DHL merchant. I just don't know why some of these businesses in Egypt, won't do what they say they will do. Maybe it was an honest mistake, but always these changes!

But someone else pointed out that it could've been lost,so I guess I should feel lucky

It is stressfull, indeed, but the main thing is that it is not lost. Maybe the businesses in Egypt were waiting for you to offer them 'rashwah ' ???

Oh those Germans (DHL) ...always exacting.... ;)

Hope FedEx redelivers it.. it can't be the first time it's happened..(maybe with a new driver this time)..

I sent things twice by Fedex to Cairo . . . they got it both times, but I think they had to pay a bit extra to have it delivered! I think that is on the Egypt side of things . . . because Fedex in the States doesn't operate that way. I think the whole Egyptian system is driven by baksheesh . . . you pay it to get things in a normal way

Well he lives in Upper Egypt and not Cairo proper and so possibly that has something to do with it, but again, I have sent gifts, etc and again the DHL man found it. I just find it odd that he said the address was undeliverable and he called and no one answered. My future FIL is retired and he doesn't leave the house for very much. At the very least, he didn't call.

Sounds like someone is lazy and a liar!! Oops!! I guess Fedex wouldn't want to hear that. Too bad . . . they lose customers this way. If DHL can find them, then send by DHL. Regardless, when you have important things to send, you want it to get there.
