So I am supposed to be leaving for Montreal tomorrow as my interview is Wednesday, and as I was gathering my paperwork I noticed that on the police certificate they typed my birthday wrong ;((((( I can't believe that I did not notice this before. I called my local police station to see if there was any way that they could get me a new one with the correct date faxed/emailed/picked up before I leave ASAP and they said that unfortunately I'll have to reapply for one (without being charged). The police station said that I can give the consulate their number to phone them but I'm assuming that won't do any good

What do I do? Are they going to outright deny me? I'm so scared :( I have no idea what to do

They might ask you for one with the right birthdate and will put you on AP while waiting for you to send the missing document.

So you don't think they'll outright deny me? I'm so terrified now and I'm so mad at myself for not realizing sooner

They will definitely not deny you for a missing document or a wrong document. You'll just get put on hold until they get it. Are you able to walk in to the police station or a commissionaire's office for one? In my town, we could walk into the Police area and they'd issue the name one right there (it took about 10 minutes), the fingerprint one was the one that took about a month to get.

As it is, you could probably mention that it has the wrong birthday on it and give it to them anyways. See what they say, then just grab it when you get home and mail it in ASAP if they need it!

In my case, we did not realize the certificate we had was expired until it was too late to get a new one in time for the interview. At the end of the interview, we were given a 221g form for a updated one. No real issues other than a bit of delay in getting the visa stamp. You will be fine. Good luck!

So I am in Montreal now and I just called my Halifax police department and they are going to express courier the original, corrected police certificate! PRAYING it gets to me by tomorrow so I can have it for Wednesday. Either way he is going to scan me the corrected copy.

If the express couriered envelope doesnt reach me in time for my interview, do you think a scanned copy will suffice? If I print off the e-mail exchange between the RCMP Officer and I?

Yeah there is no way they will deny you . No one can really know if they will accept a copy. in my opinion i think they will require and wait for your original because the only thing they are a stickler on is the forms .... They might not even notice the wrong birthdate i very much doubt they will notice actually lol. I had a friend that didn't even have his spouse tax forms and he wasn't even denied they just asked for it to be mailed and thats the most important document to them, so there is no way you'll be denied for a error on the birthdate of that form. My friend was actually approved and they just put his status to administrative processing until after they get his W2

That makes me feel loads better. The RCMP are actually sending my correct CRC through Purolator, they said it should be delivered tomorrow. But if not I will bring both the original with the mistake, and the corrected copy, and the e-mail exchange between me and the RCMP officer who made the error.

You should be fine with that documentation and explanation. :) I wouldn't sweat it.

As others have stated, they will not deny in the case of missing/incorrect paperwork, they may request it as an post interview RFE worse case but it sounds like you got the updated corrected paperwork on the way.
