Just curious, how do you deal with a neighbor who constantly parks in front of your house and most of the time partially blocks your driveway?

In front of your house you cant really do much about but blocking your driveway is probably a violation. You could leave a note or just talk to them.

Yeah, i've talked to them a few times these past couple of months and they are still doing it but not daily like before. We ended up parking one of our cars on the driveway instead of inside the garage to make sure they know that they can't park even partially in front of the driveway.

And now they opted to park just in front of our house and NOT in front of their house (maybe bc of the tree shade, idk) It just annoys me, i guess they don't know common courtesy... and to top it off, they are not friendly at all!

It probably is due to the shade and you can't stop them from parking in front of your house unless you park there first.

I know. *sigh* what i don't understand is they cut the tree in their front yard bc the roots are messing up their drive way, and now they want shade. Ugh...

Buy a clunker and park it in front of their house. Let them scratch it however they want. If they have it towed, sue them.

I have annoying neighbors like this too. I just park in front of their house instead of my own and I take up both spaces instead of moving my car as close to my own driveway :) Luckily their house is up for sale.

Can you park in front of your house? That way friends and family can use your driveway?

If they park partially in front of your driveway, there's the option of backing into their car and then filing a police report (since they would be at fault for obstructing your driveway)...but that's the mean option you can daydream about. You can also daydream about setting their car on fire. I let my imagination do what I wouldn't dare do in real life, obviously, lol.

Lol. So far the only instance they annoyed me after my first post was when they parked on their yard but they had to drive around the community mailbox (haha the mailbox is on their yard). They had to use our driveway so that they can park behind that mailbox. I shouldve moved my car to the other side of our driveway to block his way out... that wouldve been awesome.

That's not so. A driver of a moving vehicle that hits a stationary vehicle is at fault no matter the circumstances.

The owner of the stationary vehicle may be ticketed for blocking the driveway, but the operator of the moving vehicle will be at fault for the accident 100% of the time.

I figured they could claim that they hadn't seen the obstruction when backing out. Either way, I was completely joking. Who would actually do that?

We had a neighbor in Houston who had to deal with people parking under his tree and partially blocking his driveway when they played soccer at the fields on the end of the street. Soccer fields had plenty of parking but if they parked there they wouldnt have to walk as far + they had shade.

Finally he got tired of it

He bought a big water sprinkler at Home Depot, the size you can practically water a field with. For two weekends in a row he set that sprinkler on "fixed" and whenever they parked there he turned it on with water pouring over the entire car.

Two weekends was enough. Nobody parked there the rest of the summer. I never knew the guy, just waved from time to time when I would push my daughter's stroller around but that halloween we had a good laugh about it. I told him next year we would pony up for his water bill if he had to do it again.

It was the best and most effective 'no parking' message i've ever seen. My wife and I still laugh about it.
