We did have a few gnarly fights while waiting for my husband's ead. It's tough moving to a new place without your support system and relying on one person for everything. Once my husband was able to start working, he started making friends and feels better now that he's able to contribute financially. Things are much better and much less stressful now.

Same as Wooderz, I had a few arguments during the process, it was frustrating. It will be better. I'm trying to find a job right now, its frustrating to not get any calls back after submitting resumes. But I believe things gonna be better.

Finance is one of the main reasons, moving and migrating to new country with little funds is really tough.

It will be better! Good luck!

Homesickness can cause lots of fights even when you dont want to argue. The USC spouse needs to be more understanding than normal because moving someplace new is hard. I had at least a year of homesickness and threatened to leave twice in the first 3 months. I didn't even get homesick when I went to college for 2 years.

Hubs and i still argue but nothing like that first year or so. But we're both stubborn people. ;)

Our biggest frustration was with immigration so by the time he came, it has been quite easy

ss card in 2 weeks

10 year green card in one month

My son made sure he had car to drive and we got driving license within 2 months / had to buy glasses to get pass test

he went online immediately and had a job within 3 months and taking college classes in 4

so, he keeps busy

found the mosque and has made friends

you really need to find your place in house and in this country

don't be an outsider / even if you have to walk, learn the area / even if country, there are things to see and do

get online / talk to family and freinds back home so you are not homesick

spend quailiy time with your spouse / this is like a honeymoon time / don't fight

for God sake LOVE each other

I think you need a PLAN IN PLACE! if you are going to be looking for a job, you should figure that all out before you move here.. the industry ect. if your spouse is going to be teh sold provider then what are you going to be doing when you are here? ect. dont wait until you come here to start talking about if you are working or not, where, what industry and all that.. sort that stuff out before

Me and my boyfriend have already lived together for almost 7 months. We don't really have fights. We live in his country at the moment while waiting for the k1 visa. I dont think anything will change once we get to the US :) we are both very excited to go there together. If you have not lived together or stayed together for long periods in the past, that could be the reason. Maybe it will just take you guys a little while to get used to living together. Also living in a new country can be very stressful
