Filing I-130 Final Questions (merged)

I will file my I-130 on Monday morning. I have only a few questions, just to make sure that I am doing this all correctly.

On the I-130 Cover Letter:

- Is it necessary to file copies of my US Passport if I am providing my US Birth Certificate?

I-130 Application Fee

- Should I clip this to my cover letter? if not, what should I do with this, simply drop it loosely in the envelope?

I-130:

- There are some blocks that I am unable to type None/N/A inside the box. Should I simply leave these blank, or hand write None/N/A in these boxes? (i.e., block C.9. (my wife's US Social Security Number)?

- Block 15....Name and address of present employer. Does this information pertain to the petitioner or the beneficiary?

Copies of supporting documents:

I have certified copies of my divorce papers. Do I need to make xerox copies of these to submit with my package or go ahead and send the certified copies? Same with birth certificate and marriage certificate?

Thanks in advance for all of your support! I'm ready to get this process started.

Have you checked out this guide? http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1

You need either a copy of every page in your passport (including the biographic page) OR a copy of your birth certificate. In general, you only need to provide copies of your documents, unless USCIS asks for originals, so keep the originals handy.

Some questions are only answered if there is something to answer it with. For example, the form asks for US Social Security Number and then in parenthesis says "if any".

Don't leave anything blank or the adjudicator may think you didn't see it or forgot to answer the question. Even if there is no answer to the question (such as if you have no prior spouse or no children or no job) then put the word "none" in the box to prove that you have read and answered every question.

I provided a copy of my birth certificate, i was the later asked to provide copies of my passport showing id page and stamps showing entry and exit from the Philippines, it is just as easy to provide both now as opposed to waiting to be asked later and slowing the process down

With respect, you applied for a K-1 and the OP is filing for a CR-1. A K-1 requires proof you have met (which is why you needed to show passport stamps). CR-1 does not require thst proof. We have to provide proof of an ongoing bona fide relationship (which may include providing copies of passport stamps but not ncessarily).

I posted this series of questions a few days ago, but received no viable responses.

I could really use a few minutes of expert help here.

Thanks in advance, guys!!

Some people (including me) responded.

I suggest you go back to the other thread, read the guide that someone provided the link to and the responses we also provided.

Thanks for both of your responses. I have read the guide time and time again. Some of my questions may have answers there in the I130 guide, but others do not.

For instance. On the I-130, Box 15....does this pertain to the petitioner or the beneficiary.

I'm not asking this question for my health, I have read the instructions numerous times, but want to make sure I don't have any issues once this thing goes in the mail.

So, what I am looking for is specific answers/instructions to each of my questions.....not a general statement such as "read the I130 guide". The I-130 guide is very general and does not explain questions block by block! \\\

Thanks for your assistance and have a great day.

Toby

So then should I hand write the other None/N/A responses in ink?

Awesome, B&Z. Thank you.
