Hello. I am a U.S. citizen filling out I-864 AOS forms for my wife and stepdaughter. They are from the Philippines, but we all live in Korea (I am an English Teacher). We have everything else done (I-130 approved, Police Checks done, Medical Exams done, DS-260s done).

I had a few questions though while doing this form (our Interview in Seoul is in 2 weeks).

1) Income - I make more than 125% of the poverty line with my Korean Teaching job and have lived here for almost 6 years. But since that income is excluded from taxes on my IRS Return, Line 22 of my 1040 says a very small number (under a grand from dividends and cap. gains). Since that number is small, even though I make more than enough, do we need a Joint Sponsor?

If so, my Dad said he would do it.

1a) If needed, what documents does my Dad need to send us with the two I-864 forms? Tax returns? (too late for him to get IRS transcripts, but I have them for me)

2) Household Size - Since I filed 2 separate I-130 petitions, Part 3, Box 2 should Not be checked, right?

2a) Assuming the previous answer was that the box shouldn't be checked, What do I do for Part 5? For my Wife's AOS, I am thinking Box 1=1, 2=1, 3=0, 4=0, Therefore, Box 8 = 2. For my Stepdaughter's AOS, I am thinking Box 1=1, 2=1, 3=1, 4=0, Therefore, Box 8 = 3. Is that right? I am very confused about Q4 on my Wife's, and Q3 on my stepdaughter's. Should the Household Size be 2 on both or 3 on both, or 2 on one and 3 on the other?? If it helps, I didn't claim either as dependents on my taxes since they obviously don't have SSNs.

Thank you for any help you can give us. We are very confused and stressing about making errors.

1. Yes, because your foreign income won;t continue once you move back to the USA

1a.) Same as you would need (3 years tax returns/ transcripts, paystubs, letter of employer if you can get it), plus proof he is a US citizen or greencard holder living in the USA- passport copy or similar.

Hi. How many pay stubs do we need to send - for the past 2 months or even more?

2-3 months should be fine, especially if the income is steady and more or less the same all the time.
