Hi,

just got this email from CRIS

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On March 20, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

Does it mean that my Green card is coming soon????

Good to see you off the list! Congratulations!

I'd like to point out to readers - this isn't all that atypical - at least at the present. Namecheck issues are growing and the backlog is piling up. BUT..........MOST people who land in namecheck aren't stuck long. It's just we unfortunate few that go past 6 to 8 months who are probably in for the long haul.

So take heart from this thread and others like it if you find yourself stuck. The odds are in your favor you won't be stuck long.

Thank you everyone, I still feel lucky for not being stuck in the namecheck for too long as we have already been while going through similar think while waiting for our k-1 visa, it took over 6months for the namecheck to clear.....

wishing you all the best and also getting out of the black hole to everyone, specialy people who have been stuck there for a loooong time, it is not fair :-(
