hello folks,

does anyone know if payment for visa has to be in cash only or paid by the credit card? or each embassy is different?

I think there's variation by Embassy. Jacinta paid her fee at a bank where the US Embassy in Kenya has an account, and she brings the receipt back at the time of her interview. This is a fairly normal practice in Kenya--people often pay school fees this way--but it's probably a lot different in other countries.

Hello..I dont know abut US Embassy. But here in the Philippines, we have to pay in advance the visa fee at any bank accredited by the US Embassy and the bank will validate the back of DS-157 form and it should be the one to use to submit other needed forms during the interview. The US Embassy will check this form to see if the applicant paid the visa or not.

well this is what it says on the Romanian site:

A non-refundable US$ 100 application fee is collected (only cash or travelers checks are accepted).

I believe London also requires payment to be made at a Barclay's bank and then they issue this special payment stub thingy. I think they have the same process for all visas (I recall him having to do it when we tried for the B2).

Check your embassy's website - they probably have information. If not, you'll have to see what the information you receive regarding your interview says.

My fiance paid in cash - Brazilian reais - at Citibank in Brazil.

In Colombia they pay at Bancafe and take the receipt to the interview.
