Wow that part sure was fast. Hope the rest of your journey goes well and speedily too. Congrats.

Sent my I-751 application overnight on March 8th, Vermont received on March 9th, issued I-797 NOA / 1 year extension on March 13th, received it today in mail March 16th.

heheh.. a real case of hurry up and wait, now. :)

All the SCs are good about getting those NOAs out right away, and guard it carefully, as that is your new proof of status. I made the DAH carry a reduced size version of the NOA with his expired GC and kept the original safe.

Don't fret if you don't hear anything back for awhile now; it can take 3-18 months to adjudicate an I-751.

Update: Got the approval letter yesterday, dated 17th July :) Looks like a "homemade" typewritten note. Tells me to go to Buffalo, with three photos and my passport. Only additional content was a single sided tri-fold brochure explaining how they have changed from 3/4 view to face-on for pics.

I sent two photos in with my application, I guess they didn't use those.

Now to study up for my naturalisation test (from what I understand I can apply 3 months before my 3 year permanent residency anniversary?)

HI! Condratulations!

I had the same thing as they have asked me to come over to their office with the 2 pictures though., but the picture on my Green Card was the kind of picture i have submitted with the I-751 application actually and wasnt a bad one ,still goodlooking :P ., though i was still a little bit upset because on the new pictures i have brought to the INfopass appointment i looked so much better as tanned and with the great smile that i was really hoping they were gonna place one of those on my Green Card :hehe::star: ., but they didnt :)

My Best wishes! (F)

Sincerely.

I sent mine in Vermont too this month and got 1 year extension so it's like it took them 5 months before getting approval letter. I hope I'll get mine too. Thanks for the update.
