Nationalities on DS260- Help needed

I have 2 questions regarding country of origin/nationality for you guys. I hope somebody can help me answer this question on the DS-260 application for immigration for my husband`s parents. It may sound such a dumb question, but i do not want any confusion.

I am currently in the process of filling the form out for my mother in law. She currently holds dual citizenships. One is from Bosnia where she currently lives, she moved to Bosnia in 1981.. and one from Croatia where she was originally born and raised. However, she does not have a valid passport from Croatia anymore.

On the form DS 260, it asks couple of questions.

Country of origin/nationality? Would this be Croatia? or Bosnia? Origin to me means where she was born?

and then towards the bottom of the form online, it asks do you or have you held any other nationality other than the one you have indicated above.. and do you have a valid passport.. Should i list Bosnia there, and list the passport number that it asks for,

I hope somebody can help me clarify this. I would really appreciate all help!!!!!!!

For country/region of origin (nationality) she should put whichever country she has a valid passport for. Then below state that she is a dual citizen with no valid passport.

My husband was born in Bosnia but only has a Croatian passport so he put down Croatian national and put Bosnia as his dual citizenship with no passport.

I disagree. She is Croatian first, Bosnian second. I would fill it out in the way it made sense to you originally.

Since she will be entering the US with her Bosnian passport it is assumed she is entering as a Bosnian national as that is her country of origin.

The embassy told us to use whichever passport the visa will be issued in as my husbands nationality.

He has both nationalities. His country of origin is the one of his birth. Thats how i read the question.
