Is there really no way to contact a real person from here to find out what is going on?

There is no way to contact anyone at the CSC. But your timeline indicates you filed your I-130 a little more than 2 months ago so not sure what you expect to hear from them as it could take 5-6 months.

Hey Kitkat! :)

Yes but we're still just waiting for the NOA1 which is supposed to come straight away..! We filed Nebraska and our cheque has been cashed in California...??? Not sure why as I was under the impression K-3s get sent there...we're filing the CR-1/IR-1.

It's normal for your case to be transferred to CSC -- Nebraska doesn't handle those anymore. But you should have your NOA1 by now. Have you signed up with the online site using your case number from the back of your cancelled check? That way at least you can see if there has been any progress - it doesn't matter if you never receive the NOA1 since you know they cashed your check.

Nebraska, and Texas forward all family based petitions to California, I-130 is a family based visa petition application.

It is strange that you did not receive NOA1 letter, perhaps the address you gave them is a problem.

The check should have your case number printed on the back of it. You can use that number to track your case on USCIS website.

Hmm...wonder why they don't just get us to send the petition there in the first place..

Thanks for the reassurance and advice KitKat & YuandDan :) ; we will investigate the details from the back of the cheque to see if it will shed some light on the situation. If the NOA1 is not necessary that is a relief to know; it'd be nice to know the process isn't being held up...

Just worked out that our petition was received at CSC February 28 and the NOA1 was sent then which is good news however, now I'm worried that our NOA2 will be sent to wherever the NOA1 was sent and we won't know...???

Goodness me.....

You can look at your cancelled check to see the receipt number, you can then register at the USCIS web site, plug in the # and follow your case. CSC always says that they mailed out the NOA1 but in reality a few of us here ever received it. I had to call them 30 days after they said they sent it and then they said they were going to mail another one which should "only" take 30 days. I'm glad I called because the receipt # I got from the cancelled check was off by 2 digits, so I was looking at the wrong receipt online for over a month.

Hey Mono :)

Oh I have just registered online from the reciept number on the back of our cheque that's how I found out it had been received Feb 28!

But thanks, it's good to hear that we're the norm for not receiving the NOA1 as this gives me some hope that they are aware of our address for the NOA2 which is the next concern.

Call the national customer service line 1-800-375-5283 and confirm your address is correct on their system.

Funny my husband received the NO1 from California for my daughter but never received one for me  he called the useless line and they said it was a glitch in the system, they are now both showing on line to being received on the 8th February, my daughters was touched on the 19th February but mine has not been touched.

The only 'real person' you can contact is the one on the other end of the phone at the customer service number (at the bottom of your NOA1). To even get to a human, you have to go through the prompts as if you're trying to change your address and then you can ask about your status.

I did the automated thing a few times too, but when I started to feel as if we'd been 'lost', I wanted to talk to an actual human being.

Oh that must be annoying Arwensun but that USCIS guy on here did say they try to do families together so hopefully that is the case with yours.

Tis the weekend there now so will try Tuesday and let you know how we go...want to get that address thing cleared up so there's no hold up when the time comes...

hate to say it but that's not *exactly* true. We got a reply when we emailed CSC-XII.485@dhs.gov and they told us

The I-485 at question is still pending FBI name check clearance. Once the file has been cleared by FBI, the file will be adjudicated. The Service has NO control on how long it takes FBI to clear the case.

better than a kick in the teeth...

For anyone else looking to email CSC, I recommend including the following: Fule Name, Receipt Number and A Number as some folk have reported on VJ that they don't get a reply, or they get a reply that states CSC do not respond to emails [don't ask, I have no idea].
