CNN Fails Miserably Trying To “Fact Check” Accusation Against Clinton Foundation

Under the guise of “fact-checking” Donald Trump’s Wednesday speech, Alesci and Frankel purported to
whether “Clinton’s State Department approved the transfer of 20% of America’s uranium holdings to Russia while nine investors in the deal funneled $145 million to the Clinton Foundation.”

Why Alesci and Frankel couldn’t confirm the $145 million in Clinton Foundation donations for themselves is curious. Indeed, in a 4,000-word front page story written over a year ago, the
Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Jo Becker and Mike McIntire verified the
Clinton Cash
uranium revelation in stunning detail, including charts and graphs laying out the flow of millions of dollars from the nine investors in the uranium deal who flowed $145 million to Hillary’s family foundation. Since Alesci and Frankel appear unable to perform basic journalistic research, here are the names and amounts they are still waiting on the Clinton Foundation to get back to them on:
  • Frank Giustra,
Canadian mining magnate who created a company that later merged with UraniumOne, gave $31.3 million and a pledge for $100 million to the Clinton Foundation
  • Frank Holmes
, a shareholder in the deal who donated between $250,000 and $500,000 (the Clinton Foundation doesn’t report exact amounts, only in ranges) and is a Clinton Foundation adviser
  • Neil Woodyer
, Frank Giustra’s colleague who founded Endeavor Financial and pledged $500,000 as well as promises of “ongoing financial support”
  • Robert Disbrow
, a Haywood Securities broker, the firm that provided “$58 million in capital to float shares of UrAsia’s private placement,” gave the Clinton’s family foundation between $1 and $5 million, according to Clinton Cash
  • Paul Reynolds
, a Canaccord Capital Inc., executive who donated between $1 million and $5 million. “The UrAsia deal was the largest in Canaccord’s history,” reports Schweizer
  • Robert Cross
, a major shareholder who serves as UrAsia Energy Director who pledged portions of his future income to the Clinton Foundation
  • Egizio Blanchini
, “the Capital Markets vice chair and Global cohead of BMO’s Global Metals and Mining group, had also been an underwriter on the mining deals. BMO paid $600,000 for two tables at the CGS-GI’s March 2008 benefit”
  • Sergei Kurzin
, the Russian rainmaker involved in the Kazakhstan uranium deal and a shareholder in UrAsia Energy, also pledged $1 million to the Foundation
  • Uranium One chairman
    Ian Telfer
    committed $2.35 million

Nor did CNN’s crack “fact-checkers” mention that the Clinton Foundation received $2.35 million in hidden, undisclosed donations from
, the former head of the Russian government’s uranium company—another fact that
liberal news outlets have confirmed.

Indeed, as
Bloomberg, Washington Post, New Yorker, ABC News, New York Times
, and myriad other Establishment media have all confirmed,
most explosive revelations are accurate.

i think the point of the cnn article is that fact checking trump is a massive undertaking..

and side point..'young conservatives' need to focus on throwing what actually sticks not attempting reactionary conspiracy cherry picking, this will get them no where. trust me. :alien:

But even if foundation donors profited from the sale of Uranium One, the State Department was one of several agencies that needed to sign off on the transaction.

The Treasury's Committee on Foreign Investment in the Unites States, an interagency body that reviews deals that could result in a foreign entity owning a US business, reviewed and approved the sale. The committee includes representatives from nine agencies, including the State Department.

So it wasn't true?

"The Scandal" wasn't the whole truth, plain truth, and nothing but the truth. The bombshell comes apart once the full truth is revealed. Like so many other "Clinton Scandals" from the RW Echo Chamber.

Kind of gets old and stale after a few decades.

I always find it interesting that conspiracy theorists are sure that any moment that absolute proof of Vince Fosters sexual liaisons, White Water, the fact that Web Hubbel is Hillary's father and even a dead cat killer are all going to be pinned on the Clintons any day now

O yeah, update on special prosecutor Ken Star:

he Baylor board of regents fired school president Ken Starr on Tuesday amid the sexual assault scandal involving the Bears football team, according toHornsDigest.com.

The regents believe that the blame for the school’s failure in handling rape and sexual assault reports falls on Starr, according to the report, and they might not bring punishment down on head coach Art Briles.

Starr has been Baylor president for the last six years. It is not clear if he will be moved to another position at the school or terminated complete

"Crooked Hillary".

She truly is shady as all get out and her email scandal shows what absolutely terrible judgement she has when she is motivated by self interest and puts that self-interest ahead of everything else. Plus it helps remind us of some unequivocal lies she's told about her behavior with it.

If the dems lose in November, they really do have themselves to blame. I think Biden could have trounced the hell out of Trump, and unless he went full retard on guns like Hillary is trying to do, I would personally have voted for him over Trump (most likely). As it is, I plan on sitting this one out while secretly hoping Trump wins. Dems have never fully grappled with how hated Hillary is and how poor a candidate she is. The way they see trump? Yep, that's how republicans see Hillary. Hopefully that can help them understand.

Good luck!

ExPatty I see two items in your post I think I basically agree with.

Biden would have mopped the floor with Clinton and Sanders and then Drumpf in the general election.

Clinton (both really) are hated, but for the most part blindly, and by a relatively small section of the Right. Going Left from that position opinions get much more realistic as the hard core haters tend to never notice how little of the things that they attack the Clinton's on have much merit.

Hey! Guess who's got a new job at CNN!

controversial, lol.

But his hiring was also highly controversial, even within the newsroom, in part because he has a reputation for being hostile toward journalists.

Ivanka Trump isnt the only one who doesnt want Corey Lewandowski around.

Sources told Page Six on Friday that CNNs facing a near internal revolt over Jeff Zuckers hiring of Lewandowski as an exclusive commentator for the news network days after he was fired as Donald Trumps campaign manager.

CNN is facing a near internal revolt over the Corey hiring, said a TV insider, who described many in the newsroom as livid. Female reporters and producers especially . . . They are organizing and considering publicly demanding that Lewandowski be let go.

The Post reported on Monday that the Donalds daughter Ivanka gave her dad an ultimatum to cut Corey loose after she was distressed by news hed grabbed reporter Michelle Fields by the arm at a Florida event, and by a Page Six report that he recently got into a shouting match on a Midtown street with campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks.

At CNN, the hiring of the former Trump campaign manager on Thursday didnt only alienate women on staff. A source further said that Latinos and others in the newsroom feel betrayed by an homage to Trump, so they may do a public letter objecting to the move.

A different source said, Everyone at CNN and even people who used to work there are pissed about Trumps former campaign manager being hired on salary.

A source previously told Page Six that Lewandowskis getting as much as $500,000 for the new gig, but a CNN spokesperson told us on Thursday, I can assure you we are paying him nowhere near $500,000.
