I wanted to know what are some reason for them to send a REF? When I sent our paperwork in should I have sent a copy of my fiancés birth certificate from Ethiopia? It's in Amharic, also they messed up his passport his date of birth is 12.3.90 (American calendar) but it shows as 8.30.92 on his passport the lady who filled out his and his friends paperwork mixed up some of their information he's now trying to have them fix it but we didn't want to wait to have them fix it before sending off the paperwork. It took him over 5 months to get the passport due to the office not being open in the city he lives in..... I wasn't aware that I needed to send that in along with the paperwork.

Or front and back of your naturalization certificate..

You don't need to send your fiance's birth certificate to USCIS. but he will need it for his medical appointment and at the interview stage.

Those dates need to be fixed. Whatever is in his birth certificate should match all the other records.

I only sent them copies of when I used my passport not all pages, so I think I will be getting a REF

It's possible, but it's something you can fix easily.

Also, could you please correct your timeline? As of 03/25/2015 all i129f petitions are being routed to the California service center, so your case was never there and never transferred. You just sent you documents to the lockbox which is located in Texas. This helps with the timeline predictions for everyone. Thank you.

Okay, I am going to tell him he needs to fix all of that before he goes to him interview. I don't want there to be any delays... I put his birthday as it shows on his passport. should I have not done that?

That mistake is already made. Just make sure your fiance has his right date in the birth certificate and passport for the interview. And he can explain that to CO if that comes up...

Good luck!
