Unclassifiable fingerprints; must get local police checks

Hi everyone!

My AOS is currently pending from a K-1 visa. I had to go to 2 biometrics appointments because my 1st set of fingerprints were unreadable by the FBI. Today June 22nd, I received a letter from USCIS saying that the 2nd set of prints also turned out unreadable (or as they call them "unclassifiable").

I already have my interview set up for next Wednesday June 29th and they're asking for local police checks from all the places I've lived in for the past 5 years. I was in France those 5 past years so I asked to get my French police records.

Now, I have 2 questions: I had my French police records sent to my parents' house in France and I will ask them to scan and email those to me; will that scanned version of my French records be sufficient for the interview? And, 2nd question, I've been living in West Virginia since I entered the US in January 2016 on my K-1 visa; will I need local police checks from WV for the interview? Or does WV not count as a place of residence since I'm not technically a resident yet?

Also, what happens if I can't get my records in time for the interview? I mean, they notified me a week before the interview...

They will likely want original police certificates.

In your position I would also obtain a police certificate from WV also.

They will RFE you for any missing documents, and can issue RFEs at the interview or after it.
