We I was looking at reasons for why someone should get a REF and I think I might get that, because I didn't send in all copies of my passport I only sent in the pages I used and the photo page. I am praying I don't get one but this makes me get prepared for it just in case I do get one....... We also have to fix his birthday because his birth certificate says on date but his ID and passport says another date I used the date that's on the passport (it's wrong), how will we fix that? I sent him a message to fix it before August so if we don't get a REF we can have it fixed before he goes to his interview.

So if he's to fix the birth certificate date then he may have to go to the "kebele" that it was issued at. If it's the passport, then he takes his birth certificate and a new approval and the immigration in Addis can take care of it. Yes, I agree with you. I would get it fixed before the interview as you don't want his documents not coinciding. That's the best approach I think is to think of those items that may RFE you and get ahead of it by preparing them so you can send it off as soon as the RFE notice letter comes in. Also, gather the documents he will need for the interview. I think that also helps with the waiting as you feel like you're being productive and actually doing something to affect the process :clock:

I have been telling him to fix it all.... So I will have to do another visa with the correct date of birth? because his passport is wrong, and ID his birth certificate is correct. I just want him to fix it all and once they get the forms in addis he can explain to them why the DOBB is different. I have been telling him to get ready for the interview but he's not listening saying he's waiting for me to send the paperwork to Addis.... He really doesn't listen at all to what I say at times. it's like talking to a wall, I am not sure if it's because he doesn't understand me but I say so much to him about this and doesn't listen to me.

Men can be so hard headed sometimes :ranting::ranting::ranting::ranting: i don't think you have to do another visa but bring the corrected documents to the interview and explain to CO. But I would call USCIS just to be sure (not sure if this would help but I would hate to wait until the interview and that's not the case then). I would wait on another application, I would see if they reject this one...just my personal opinion....maybe post about this issue on the forum and see if more seasoned vets can give more of an insight? I think the passport would be the easier fix in Addis rather than the birth certificate so that's good news (less bureaucratic and documents are digital :dancing: ). So let him take the birth certificate, application and renewal fee to immigration in Addis and it shouldn't take that long. I think I got my Ethio passport back in about a week (I'm naturalized now). I think he should know that it would be a terrible thing to get rejected at the interview after waiting ALL THIS TIME or be placed in AP because he didn't listen. There are people that are in AP for years. I think he should take it seriously and hopefully he'll get a move on once he finds out about the NOA2. My fiance was the same way until the NOA2 came and I guess then it became more real to him. If your guy needs some good talking to in Amharic....I got you I can type a nice stern message and you can read it to him

I just got some discouraging news from the USCIS..... They stated that they're processing visas for January of this year, and that they aren't approving anyone's visas that were sent after January of this year. The rep states that if someone's saying they were approved with a date after January they're most likely lying because they're 5 months behind and they don't move onto the next case until they've completed all of the previous months visas....She is telling me that I should get my second NOA by October of this year if they're not asking for more information.... Not happy with the information at all, we were hoping to have him here before Thanksgiving.

Funny, I just had my fiancee have her interview and got approved...having an NOA2 of May 17th. Yeah, I must be lying

Relax, understand that from the NOA1 you should not think about it for 60 days...at that point start getting ready as it could happen at any time. During this wait, find things to do to keep you busy! Don't get into stats, percentages and other means to figure out when it will happen. When you least expect it, you will get an update!

I am going to take your advice. I am going to stay off of there for a month. Well in 14 days it'll make 60 days ? But I am going to wait until this time next month to check.
