I am trying to figure out if my fiancé will be here by November 5th of this year. Our paperwork has been pending for 44 days since they got our paperwork on 5.6.2016. We are praying that we get the second NOA by the end of July without any issues. If the visa is approved could we possibly get him her before our deadline?

Hi JenCherry86. I have a related question. I'm wondering, based on others' experiences, how accurate are the VJ processing time estimates in our timelines? All the statistics VJ provides are so interesting, and I love studying them. And I realize the statistics are only as good as the data that members input. But I'm curious...are the VJ estimates fairly reliable?

Don't start counting your chickens..some people get through this within 8 months, others get to 10 months. And there is no guarantee of a visa.

When i started timeline said mid APRIL. It moved through out the month on June and I got myself and RFE. Waiting on the answer.

VJ timeline is a guesstimate. Dont make any plans wait then plan the process is quicker but it has  date....no guarantees...

They seem to right they're basing it off of others who update their information.

Well with our visa the timeframe is less if there's no delay in the paperwork. I triple checked everything before sending it off, there should be no reason for them to need more information. The biggest hold up is getting the second NOA, people who are married applying for a visa have a longer wait time, that's crazy I don't understand why. But without there being any delays the whole process for a K1 visa is about 6 months from start to finish. Also if the receiving country is backed up with giving out interviews there'll be a delay that way also. My friend had this issue they waited 4 months before he was given an interview making the whole process time 8 months..... But thank you from your message... Just this waiting is so hard, :-( just not happy at all. I know things will work out for us in Gods timing so I an not worried about that, it's just the waiting game and we are planning things but have to wait.

what were they asking for? Yea I know it's a guess with VJ, and we want to get the plan tickets in August after we've gotten the approval from here. Once it leaves here it's a easy process to get the interview in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He has gotten his police report already last week it's good for 6 months.

Good luck with your visa also, I sent mine in on 4.29 they received it on 5.9 in Cali so next month they should be working on May visas

So March has waited longer but approvals are picking back up....April is being approved now...

My RFE came at day 94 im now waiting again.

You can get

1)NOA2 APPROVAL

2)RFE REQUEST FOR EVIDENCE

3)NOID NOTICE OF INTENT TO DENY

4)OR DENIAL

If you got everything on the list in you should be fine :D

If not most likely youll get an RFE you reply and all should be ok.

November is possible but optimistic.

Number one rule for immigration: Never make plans that can't be changed until visa is in hand.
