What Is the Strangest Unusual Food You Have Tried

Sounds like theres a lot of BRAVE people, most things i might try once but not so sure if its still moving

Ostrich (waghh, too hard)

Crickets (chapulines are tasty)

Maguey fried worms

Fried pig or cow blood (moronga or morcilla from spain)

Sea Turtle blood, chest meat and fin soup

Cow brain, cheeks, lips, neck, tongue

fried pig kidneys (mhhhh)

tripe (or fried intestines)

crazy raw little fish I ate in the Netherlands

Haggis (mhmhmh)

warm beer (well, not warm, but room temperature)

chicken livers and hearts in mexican rice

I guess i've eaten dog's meat in some ugly taco stand in Mexico(, I don't discard the possibility

Shark soup

although some of the dishes mentioned above, are common in Mexico(wish the haggis was).. but I guess for other cultures they're weird

wild game at the Carnivore in Africa

I was in Nairobi for 2 months but never made it to Carnivore. Supposed to be a pretty fun place. (It was just mentioned in a NY Times travel article on Nairobi.) Did you like it?

That place is awesome!!

Huge skewers of meat are brought around and they carve off whatever you want. Ostrich, buffalo, zebra, you name it.

If you like meat, nothing tops Nairobi's Carnivore.

You can chose from Zebra, ostrich, I even think Wilda beast was available. Very tasty and the resturaunt is a blast.

It all tastes good! Zebra is a bit Gamey for my tatse I lik Ostrich Meat better.

I will eat most anything witha few exceptions, one is Fertilized Embryonic Chicken Egg AKA Bulot Yukk

Another Filipino delacacy at least in Borracay was Pig intestine. I was sober enough to know not to try that!

Holy Moly, people. That's an amazing list of strange foods. And... pig sphincter????? Who knew?

The nastiest thing I've ever eaten was raw pig skin. I was at a pig butchering, and after they burned and scraped all the hair off the carcass, they hoisted it up and slapped coarse salt all over it. Then everyone cut strips of the fatty, salty raw skin off the carcass and ate it like candy. I tried it, and it is just as awful as it sounds. Rubbery, nasty... ugh!

Please describe the attraction to this "apparent" food item. Something that small cannot even be tasted, unless you eat 50-100 in every bite. Not an attractive thought, really.

Let's go back to Gary and his dining experience:

In China I had pig ah..... sphincters. Thought it was calamara. I thought I was going to die when I found out.

Termites I hear are quite delicious. They're also called "sweet white ants" in Kenya, but I'm almost certain it's the same species. Normally the termites come out when it rains and when it gets dark. You can set a trap by covering holes of the termite mound so they all come out the same hole and then digging a hole right outside the hole you leave open. Then you beat sticks on the ground outside the termite mound to get them to come out and be caught.
