K1 visa need to work soon

Hai. I arrived in the US on June 6th with the K1 visa. We got married the day after and have our wedding certificate and also apply on the SSN on June 9th.

My husband is a teacher who doesn't get paid during the summer and we are really anxious for me to get a job.

Any input for us the fastest way to get work permit for me?

You have to file AOS / EAD/ AP forms asap.

Your husband can also work part time during the summer time.

It depends on when you file for AOS/EAD/AP then the clock begins it can be anywhere from as little as 2 months to 4-5 months. No sure sign of knowing but apply and get it going.

Is applying for AOS including work permit or should i apply EAD as well?

Do anyone know how much is it?

Can i apply AOS before receiving my Social Security Number?

Apply for AOS/EAD(= work permit)/AP(=travel document) together and the whole package will cost $ 1070.

You can find all the info on the guides, but basically you will need to submit forms i-485, i-864, i-765 and i-131, g-325a and supporting documents.

You do not need a SSN to apply for AOS.

You do not need a SSN to apply for AOS.

And just to make it clear, AOS alone is $1070, so applying for AP (travel permit) and EAD (work permit) is free when applying for AOS. It isn't any cheaper to just apply for your AOS.

It usually takes 2-3 months to get your EAD (so basically right when your husband starts working again, if you apply now).
