let me tell you something, once you sponsored them for a GC while they are not in the US, there visitors visa will become null/void. and they will have to wait unless a decision is made on the petitions.

Excuse me, but I believe your are misinformed.

You have not been reading VJ long enough... or you would know that people, if they have visitor visas and are waiting in their country of origin, can and sometimes do visit the USA using said visa while their permanent resident process is pending.

So, what you are saying is false.

I have proof because I did it many, many times. For stays from a week to up to six months. I never had an issue with it.

Some people do get a tough CBP officer, get nervous, I dont know. In any case, the worst that could happen is that they take the visa away from you, give you the chance to withdraw your admission request and send you back home. Your immigration process is not affected by that as long as you mention it when and if asked.

Living in the US is the biggest benefit itself. especially when an alien is from a poor country.is it not big enough of a benefit that one is more safer, have access to luxury or have some of the basic living necessities like potable water, uninterrupted power and food. these are some of the basic stuff that one can't get in the poor countries. i am sorry but it sounded a little weird to me that you don't even remember the year you became a US citizen. seems like you are starting to have what they call the first world problems. on a lighter note, sponsoring your parents is a personal decision and what nature of advice from strangers here can help you on this topic ?

But you still pay for it! Nothing is for free, anywhere. You still pay for that ''luxury'', you still pay for that power and food which are extremely expensive compared to the prices the less wealthier countries have. Life in the United States is extremely stressful and tough, you have to work super hard to have those basic luxuries and things other countries don't have. And it's a personal decision if one wants to be under that constant pressure or not. If OP s parents have enough money to sustain themselves in Mexico I don't see any need of them relocating to the States unless they have to be there with their son and they just cant be apart. The moral is United States is indeed beautiful country with lots and lots of opportunities and things to enjoy but nothing is free. And nothing gets you just pure benefits and rainbow candies on a platter. All has it's price.

the benefit is citizens can petition more people over. I think your family is looking at the benefit for THEM not you or your parents.

So if you were to want to petition a sister, that can take alot longer, but if your parents petition their daughter that is -faster-

my parents have no intention to move from canada to here.. they have retirement, health care and pensions ect...

very simple.. if htey want to uproot their lives and move to the USA then they should move here.. if htey are happily retired in mexico on an island and they get to live a fabulous life and they are happy then no, their is no need for a greencard

I havent cut the cord....a have never lived farther than 3miles of her....im glad this issue OP has is not something im in....people leave alot behind to come here.... must be tough mom took care of me i need to be close to pay it forward
