Hi everyone,

Since there no topic like this, I would like to start one.

Background: I was brought in to US with with CR2 along with my father's CR1.

Process: We filed I751 separately since I was older than 18 at that time. Then my father got his receipt, but I didn't get mine. Then we both got notices seperatly to take biometrics at the same day (remember, I didn't get a receipt). The more ridiculous thing is that they typed my name wrong on the biometrics notice, but this issue was resolved by the manager of the biometrics center. Since I didn't get my receipt, I went to an infopass appointment in June 2015, and the officer gave me a I551 stamp. Then my father got a REF last year, but I didn't get anything. Today(June 22, 2016), I went another infopass appointment for another stamp, the officer told me my case was denied way back in Jan 2016. I told him that I didn't get any notice for the denial, (just like I didn't get my receipt, nor the potential REF). After calling his supervisor, he was still able to provide me a I551 stamp, saying that I am still under "the condition"(no sure what he was referring to). Then he told me to go the USCIS website to request information why my case was denied, and I did it tonight. Strangely, my father's is still scheduling for interview. What is going on?

At the InfoPass appointment, did you not ask why you were denied? Why were you given the I551 stamp if your case was denied?

Strange....

Good luck

It seems unlikely that you were denied if they ended up giving you a stamp anyway; perhaps the case is on hold pending a RFE? If you call USCIS, they may be able to find your case with your name, SSN etc. and tell you more about your case. You might also go to the interview with your dad, in case you were supposed to get a notice and are scheduled right before or after him.

My father has submitted document for REF. I didn't even get a notice for it. This might me the catch.

The officer there refused to tell me why, but he gave very explicit answer with a type out instruction that my case is denied. He told me I have to find out why by going to USCIS website.

So, what did you find out?

I hope I have found out why. As a matter of fact, I didn't find out anything. On the website, all I can do is to request the denial notice that is missing. No respond so far yet. They promise a repond day, but it would take up to 3 weeks. Is there any way to find out?

This is so bizarre! How can they give you the stamp AND claim that your petition was denied? You also never received any notices. And instead of providing you with a copy of the notice or explanation, they tell you to go to the website. Terrible!

That is exactly what I felt. I am 19 years old, and I went there alone. I didn't know why they gave me such a respond, and sure didn't know what to ask for. I am so confused! Why my father case is still pending for interview and my case is denial without a REF(at least I didn't get the notice) or interview??? Would it be possible they combine by case with my father's since this is joint I751? I guess the success in this case is determined by my father.

In the case that I simply didn't get the notice and resulted in denial, is there any chance to fight it?

The worst part of this is that my case has been denied for more than half a year! I just got to know it yesterday! WTH

Contact your congressman or senator 's immigration aide for assistance. They have direct line of communication with USCIS. Find the release form on their website, sign it and go to their local office.
