My husband had his interview this morning. ..At the end of it the consular asked for additional documents... He was given a form which had a list of what was needed. They had also checked off to send in his passport in with these documents. My question is: Is this typically a good sign of intent to issue the Visa?

Thank y'all in advance!!

Yes it is. If you submit what they requested and they request the passport along with it then they will likely issue the visa.

Yes, The same thing happened to me. My medical was delayed so it was not finished before my interview, so I got a pink paper (RFE) with 'medical results' and 'passport' checked off. They told me to bring back my passport a few days after my medical was finished. I asked them if I would be good to go if the medical came back all right and the guy basically told me that the RFE was just a formality as they cannot give the visa without specific things (ie, the medical results) and she and I were more than qualified.

So I would assume that it's the same with you guys. There's probably just some requirement that they need to check off but once they get it on file, they will be free to issue the visa.

Congrats!

  • On Oct 13th AOS status was updated to say that a notice was returned due to post office being unable to deliver it. Tier two told me that it was biometrics or NOA1 (even though I had received both before this date).

  • A few weeks later I received a notice dated Nov 10th, in regards to my call about the Oct 13th notice. The new notice said that there were no RFE's or withholding on my case. So still not sure what this Oct 13th notice was about.

  • Received a letter from a NY office on Dec 23rd (dated Dec 10) stating that my medical was over 1 year old. (At this point my medical was only 7 months old)

  • Teir two submitted an internal service request to which I got a response telling me that I need to respond to RFE ASAP

  • Submitted another service request on 1/6/17. To which I got a response on 1/19/17 stating that my case was pending and is outside of processing time (no mention of RFE)

Keep us updated on your case.

Many of us who went through the interview in Cairo are waiting months and months in AP - And that's with having all our documents at the interview (i.e. no 221g given)

Did you already send in the things requested?

Did you case get an update? Does it say you're in AP?

Just trying to get a sense of the progress (or lack of progress!) on cases at the Cairo embassy.

Wishing good things for you!

Yes keep us posted.

Luckily it hasn't been that long yet.

Still keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Hi,

I was just curious if you had received your visa yet. I know you were waiting some time before us... We're still waiting with no change since June 29th.. very frustrating. Kindly let me know at your earliest convenience please so that I may gauge the process as well.. if you have received it then if I may ask how many days approximately that it took.

Thank you kindly :)

We got our visa yes.

They issued a couple weeks ago. The exact date is in my timeline here on VJ.

We were in AP for almost 5 months. Our case updated about 4 times then issued. There weren't any case updates for almost the entire 5 months though - they all came at the end. We picked up my fiancés passport from the embassy the day after issue.

Hopefully you'll hear good news soon!

Woo Hoo for Y'all !!.. very excited for you!!... it's absolutely crazy how long they take . It should be a crime to keep family's apart for so long.. I mean the original approval process was long enough!!... I guess I'll stop checking our status daily.. as you must surely know it's enough to make a person crazy.

Best Wishes to the pair of you!!

And thank you for the quick response :)
