Hi guys please I would really appricate any feedback or information on this.

On behalf of my cousin who filed for her husband in Ghana and are awaiting for an Intreview date , her husband (lives in Ghana) mistakenly misplaced his passport and from the priority date timeline they are most likely to go for an Intreview between August-September. So please what should he do because I believe they used his old passport number while filing and now that it has been misplaced should he get a new passport? Will it affect anything during his Intreview if he gets a new passport with different passport number ? Thank you in advance

He needs to go to the passport office and get a new passport. He will need a passport for his interview. I would have him go to the passport office and find out what he needs to do. Time is not on his side. I heard it can take between 2-8 months to get a passport.

He just cant go to the passport office to get a new passport. Firstly, he need to go to the nearest police station to make report and write statement. The office in duty will issue him a statement to go to the passport office with it.. they will attach the police statement to the new passport. That will help. And likely if the passport is a biometric passport then he will get his old passport number .. he need to include his name on old passport and passport number in the statement ..

Best thing to do is first to get a police report of the missing passport and secondly (although this not the right way) get a trusted connection man to get you an express new passport for a much higher fee. if you decide to rely on the passport office or go through the regular route i can bet you with my last pesewa that you would not get it before the interview date

Last time i was in Ghana i had to pay a connection man 600ghc to get one in 2 weeks. it is not right but under the conditions you will have to compromise

If he has not taken any action by now, then he should just go to the interview and tell them he lost his passport. That's all. Some questions like this, strangers can't decide for you. Get a birth certificate and go to the passport office and he can get one. It's not going to be cheap because that system doesn't work anymore and he will need someone to help him get it fast. They will just write on the back he had an old passport with passport number if he knows, if he doesn't, it's already in the system. I'm scared he might not get a new passport before his interview because that route is more than dead in Ghana. Tell him to pull and push the heavens and earth to get one ASAP. Good luck

expect a delay for sure and probably will have to set up a brand new interview date since the interview was based on the lost passport number

Not necessary. They will state he had a previous (lost) passport and write the old passport number on the back of the new one.

Let him apply for new passport. He should go to the interview whether he has the passport or not. He should let CO know about the lost passport .

My sis's passport was expired during our interview, CO rescheduled a date for us to bring the passport. it wasn't ready at the time. I went back without my sis (she was in school) and the passport. CO again rescheduled and on the 3 time, I had the new passport for my sis.

He has to get a new passport with the same information which is on the previous one and if possible report to the authority and get a police report that his passport is missing. If he has a copy of the missing passport, he can take it with him. It will not affect his interview.
